The comments on those pages are a refreshing change from the tree-hugging neo-hippie liberal cant that exists on this board.

Getting really tired of the endless self-promoting posts on this Prius Limo by the user of the same name...hey isn't my car neat! And all that. I wouldn't ride in one. The weld through the middle is a major weak point. This thing gets T-boned by another car and it's going to spilt in two. No thanks.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(DaveLeePrius @ Oct 24 2007, 04:26 PM) </div> Many of us are quite interested in these novel and informative posts. Remember that this thing started out as a picture that was claimed to be a photoshopped image and finally the actual owner/builder showed up and explained his project. Part of this community is about vehicle mods and improvements to the car and his posts are quite pertinant and welcome by the majority of the community. If you don't like reading them then it's not necessary for you to read the thread or threads about the car...they're easy to identify...and/or you can put priuslimo on your ignore list and you won't see any of his posts. Now, you COULD have left the first paragraph out of your post and altered the second paragraph to say something like: "Priuslimo, can you comment on the safety of your modification? I'm concerned that the center would be a weak point and the car could potentially split in two in a side-impact collision leading to serious injuries to the occupants." THAT would have expressed your concern in a non-confrontational, non-hostile manner and shown respect to your fellow priuschat member who has as much right to post what he's interested in as you do.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(DaveLeePrius @ Oct 25 2007, 06:56 AM) </div> If you took the time to read the thread and those "self-promoting posts" of Prius Limo you would know the car has more than some welding holding it together but you carry on in your ignorance. Be carefull calling the part of the car that goes from the rear wheel arch across the back of the car to the other rear wheel arch a bumper, I have been told I am wrong to call it that and it is a rear quarter panel on another thread about mudflaps. Personally I think Prius Limo has every reason to blow his own trumpet and I read his posts with great interest.
DaveLee, I don't think you understand what welding is if you are afraid it will come apart. If he had brazed it together, that would be a whole 'nother story. When steel is welded (properly) it is the same as when the metal was whole. It's not like gluing blocks of wood or something! If you are worried about welds coming apart, you shouldn't look at the rest of your car. It has welds all over the place! Nate
I cannot believe this thread is still going. In fact I'm now certain that most of these posts have been faked. On the other hand, it could just be an existential crisis of my own making. But I'm probably faking it.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(samiam @ Oct 25 2007, 07:04 PM) </div> Actually, I think you are photoshopped.
I have seen this car several times. A few times on the interstate and once in the parking lot at a hospital. Looked pretty real in person.
I saw it at Disneyland in LA! I just posted a new thread: http://priuschat.com/forums/prius-m...saw-modded-6-door-prius-in-la.html#post809134 I think it's the same one as this (same color, same weird bump in the seem).
I'm so glad to see this new thread. It's such a relief because I was really starting to feel for Lass, who was so confident and really seemed to be telling the truth, I believed him from the start. All in all, this is truly a relief, for this thread's and Lass' sake. P.S.: Awesome car...
Well said, there are some "veteran" posters here who might feel that to apoligise to Lass for the "it's definitely photoshopped because i know but i didn't call you a liar and you need to calm down "sort of comments might be some sort of defeat but nice to see other posters come right out and apologise for the doubt!!
This thread was awesome. I read it all. Very informative and exciting read about the changes in making this car! An amazing project, I can't believe the range of skills this guy has. Also awesome to read those who tried to punk Lass as a troll, and got punked themselves. We got to see who had the spine to apologize and who tried to slime their way out of looking a fool, and just looked worse.
This is not a photoshopped image - it is my Aunt's car. And it isn't a prius limo, either. My aunt's friend found two totalled priuses - one totalled on the front, and one on the back. He meshed them together, and created this car. It's pretty cool, but to get to the gas pump, you have to open the middle doors and pull the gas pump lever. The wiring only reached that far up. All in all, it's a really cool car!
