After being told over the past week there were no Prius's for sale in Western Washington, I got a call from Michaels Toyota in Bellevue that they had a III with Nav in black if I wanted to come over and get it at MSRP with no tax. This combined with the transmission breaking on my 88 Corolla FX-16 and a mandate from my wife to get a reliable car meant it was time. Yeah!!!! I ran right over there and picked it up, its nestled in the garage now. I'm stoked. I've never had a car like this before, its quite a piece of machinery. I'm looking forward to learning about it with the help of this board. I would imagine there might be a few more stories like this today. I know there were some cars on the lot with reservations that hadn't been picked up yet. -Sebastian Shoreline, WA
32k - Lol. It is. I drove the last half mile in EV, and my wife didn't even know I had pulled into the garage. Maggie - I tried to, but I need 5 posts to link my image. So expect some pics shortly. TKY - Shoreline is, incorporated in 1995. Are you from around here?
Shorelineprius, I was born & raised in Seattle. I went to Franklin HS and UW. At one time I patrolled the Shoreline area for KCP. Moved to Denver area in early 1995 and still miss the green of the Northwest, but not the rain. I didn't know, or don't remember that Shoreline incorporated. Got to go into the private, guarded community just north of 145th for alarms at the homes of several locally prominent citizens. Interesting experience. --TK
Amazingly, I also graduated from Franklin HS and the UW (95' and 99')!!!! And I work in the public safety arena (Firefighter though, not police). I think the area you are thinking of is The Highlands. I live on the other side of Shoreline, by Hamlin Park. Shoreline (like many small cities in King County) uses King County Sheriff's for the police department.
That is just almost scary. I may be a bit ahead of you; Franklin '69 and UW '79. Grad schools elsewhere. We're planning a road trip, in the Prius, late Sept. to early Oct., for my wife to visit her mother in Portland and I'm attending my HS 40th reunion. It's a small world . . . --TK
Wow.... It really is. Nice to meet another Quaker. One of my best friends (who graduated with me in 95') father went to FHS around the same time you did. Don Morgan. I'd have to check the actual graduation class, but I'd bet a dollar you were both there the same time.
