It is good to see younger people getting fuel-efficient cars instead of power gas-guzzlers. It is very rare and it shows that you have a certain intelligence about you that some others tend to lack. To be able to voluntarily give up power for efficiency is a great trait to have at this time in history and at your age!
I beleive I have this trait as well but I did not have as many fuel efficient choices with high technology when I was younger. When I was 17 (I am 33 now) I bought my first brand new Toyota, a 96 Tercel, which I thought was great because of the mileage. My friends laughed as they all drove muscle cars that guzzled gas. I traded that in a few years later for a 2000 Echo and that for a Matrix 4WD XR in 03 before I got my 06 Prius in 2006.
So basically I have owned cars with either 1.5 or 1.8 liter engines. I have always been a beleiver of efficiency and luxury (each sucessive car adding more luxury) and I have bought my cars to personify this. With more young people like you it will not be long before we are all driving electrics! We will have the last laugh when gas hits $5+ a gallon.
    :welcome:

Awesome reply man! Thanks a bunch for all of the compliments. That's exactly what I appreciate. I'm not all into the huge speed cars, the mustangs that will break your neck with all of the horsepower/torque. I'm more of an efficiency guy if you will. Even though gas is around 2.26 a gallon here, I'm still saving much more money over my Suburban, and that makes it all worth it. Not to mention the value of the Prius doesn't go down much AT ALL. I was seeing earlier models going for over 18K which is very good in my opinion as most cars lose their value fairly quickly. The Prius is a win-win type of car, I don't see who wouldn't want to have one! I guess my hours and hours and hours of research and fascination motivated me to decide on this excellent piece of machinery! Prius for life.

Woah, this thread got resurrected from the dead. I'm very happy with the Prius even to this day. I have a feeling I'll be a Prius owner my entire life.
