On the Gen III Nav radio the tuning dial also has file as an option. What is its function? I picked up My Prius IV with Nav this past week and am learning the minutiae. I did not receive or have not found a message about a free 90 day trial for the XM radio. Did I miss that somewhere? This is an interesting and fun car and seems larger then my 2006 Prius with the similar equipment. hwell:
In your audio system, you have the option of playing standard CD discs or MP3 formatted disks. When playing MP3 discs, you can navigate from song to song by scrolling thru the file structure/list, similar to that you'd see on your PC. In the manual, you'll find some high level information about your XM trial. Stu
No access to file system unless the car is in park mode, according to the nav owner's manual. Bummer, but then I don't want to be clocked by another driver messing with theirs when they're on the same road as me.
you will get a letter from XM about 30 days or so after you pick up your car it will have your name, address, and radio # (specific to the xm radio in your car) the letter will offer you different pricing schema (duration, xm/xm "plus serius"/ traffic) to continue past the 90 day free trial you can call the 800 # or go on line to the provided interwebs location
I wish I had received more info on the XM radio from the dealer but thank goodness PriusChat keeps us informed! Your SAT ID # can be obtained by tuning the SAT to 000, per manual. It says you wil need the number when communicating with XM.
