On the Gen III can I leave the car running and lock the door...I see on the Gen II forum someone suggested locking it by taking out the key from the side of the fob....does this still hold true, or is there an easier way??
Can't you just press the lock button on the fob? Or even press the touch sensitive lock on the handle? Won't that lock the door? I've gotten out of my car while it was running and I know it beeps at you, but it didn't occur to me to try to lock it. Does it prevent you from locking or something?
Yes you can lock the door using the manual key. I'd say for the 500ish bucks to buy the remote start it's much safer as it keeps the security enabled so folks can't break a window and drive away.
On the Gen II you can't do this. The car knows it is on and keeps you from locking it, other than using the manual key. I assume it works the same way in the Gen III, but I haven't tried it. Tom
