I just found out that my car is on the Nippon Highway. With my free registration on vesseltracker.com, the location of this ship is not available. Does anyone here have a paid subscription to this site that could tell me where the ship is and ETA or have an alternative tracking site with this info? Thanks.
I'd be very interested in this as well! My sales guy said my car will be at the dealership as early as June 24th or first week of July. But this guy has only been there for 3 or 4 months and doesn't have good information so who knows with him! I should receive his commission he made off the sale because I taught him more about the car than he did me.
I didn't locate my car on that site, I was just told that my car is on that ship. I am just trying to find the ship's location.
I found this site better than vesseltracker--it's real time info (all sites that I'm aware of only report ships positions when pretty close to land, not in the middle of the Pacific, for example): Live Ships Map - AIS - Vessel Traffic and Positions If your ship is coming into SF (Benicia) you can get real time position here: BoatingSF.com: All About San Francisco Bay By Boat Also--the dealer can tell you the port ETA.
Very interesting article about the ships that carry our babies over the sea to their new home. And a picture of Prii onboard - cool, looks like a multi-deck parking lot on land. Car transport ships set sail to save money LONG BEACH, Calif. — So far, the Auriga Leader has been a lucky ship. While lots of car carrier ships are languishing at anchor around the world, the pride of the NYK Line has stayed busy hauling shiny new Toyotas from Japan to the West Coast of the U.S. The entire article on this link: Car transport ships set sail to save money - USATODAY.com Toyota Prius hybrid cars wait to be driven off the Auriga Leader in Long Beach, Calif. The cars are parked on 12 decks; the ship can carry 6,200 cars.
Is anybody know how to find out the name of the vessel base on the destination and ETA? I come from Montreal Canada, I just ordered a Prius3 last week. My dealer said the car is already on the ship, possibly will arrive on the middle of August. But he didn't know which vessel contains my car. How can I find out buy using this information and ship tracker? Thank you in advance.
Nobody outside us has asked yet. Look on the window sticker of a new Toyota and see if it lists a port of entry. New Westminster BC ? Let me know and I'll see if I can find some info. I use this thread. http://priuschat.com/forums/gen-iii-2010-prius-main-forum/61970-car-carrier-ship-tracking.html
i asked my dealer what ship was it on,he left for a couple minutes, came back and told me(indiana highway arriving in portland). I am not sure at what point they have this info but the car was about three weeks out when i received this info. I wasnt able to see it on vesseltracker until it was within a couple days of port. Took about 10 days after that to receive my car(in indiana, it goes by train to chicago then carrier to indianapolis)
