I am buying my first new car, after many years of working on my own and owning used (sometimes waaaaay used) cars. I would like a Prius. I would like the handsfree bluetooth for talking on the phone and I would like the Ipod connector. I would like any color except red, black or white. Does anyone know if I can get the bluetooth and Ipod attachment in the glovebox for a Prius II? Do I have to buy a Prius III for the bluetooth? If so I am kind of ok because I want the better radio. Would anyone recommend me a dealer in western N.C.? My local dealer seems to be putting toyoguard 699.00 prices on the sticker and bringing them in with options I am not remotely interested in. Thank you for any advice laotzuistruth
The Prius III is the lowest model that comes stock with Bluetooth capability (part of the JBL sound system). The ipod connector that is installed and hides in the glove box is not standard on any Prius, but Toyota will install it on some from the factory depending on the region that ordered the car. For example: you live in NC which is part of Southeast Toyota (SET). SET orders a large percentage of their Prius with certain add-ons (like Toyoguard) to bring up the margins they have on the car. There are a lot of threads here if you do some reading with recommneded dealers in the NC/VA area. I believe NCKevin found one in NC that is working well with him. Good luck!
JIM BARKELY TOYOTA in Asheville has 2010s about 200 off sticker, tax & tags, no doc fee, no silly toyoguard.
Thanks for the info. I'll call them tomorrow. It would be nice if 3 or 4 of us NC people could go in together for a group buy and get a better price.
Make it so Eddie Haskell. I want a gray package II with no extras... I will be on vacation for 2 weeks, but will be back in touch with the real world on August 5th.
I'm a North Carolina buyer too. I live in Charlotte and I'm looking for a good dealer to deal with. I had a terrible experience at Toyota of Lake Norman, even though they had the car I liked. I don't recommend shopping there. Any advice on getting my Prius purchase back on track would be appreciated.
As I mentioned in another thread, give Jim Barkley Toyota in Ashville a try. I think you will be plesantly surprised.
