Somebody had posted some pictures of his winter grey next to the magnetic grey....please would you direct me to this thread? I can't find it now.
Danny has a photo of his old next to his new Prius in his album (thanks Danny)... Here's the link: http://priuschat.com/forums/members...10-prius-picture1763-head-head-comparison.jpg
I have a Winter gray. I was surprised by the amount of blue undertone it has. In certain light such as under the shade on a bright sunny day it looks blue. To my eye, it's a very pleasing color.
I totally agree. There's definitely a blueish tint. It's a very pleasing color and quite unlike anything else I've seen on the road.
I've seen the winter grey and also think it's very attractive. Does it show dirt very easily though, like black? It's quite a dark color.
Need some help on this color please. Is the new gray similar to magnetic with the nice metallic flecks in the paint? I am concerned on the new color. Thanks.
It's darker than the magnetic grey and has a bluish undertone. I don't think it has the metallic flecks but is an attractive color.
The gen 2 I just traded in was magnetic grey. My new Gen 3 is winter grey. There are few, if any "pure" greys out there. A pure grey has no color cast at all. It's just somewhere between white and black. Magnetic grey has a green cast and is lighter. Winter grey has a blue cast and is more saturated. I like it better. It shows dirt and dust. All dark colors do. That's why they invented car washes. My car goes in next week to get the 3M protective film. It's the first time I have done this. It's very expensive, but based on what I have read here, worth it. I know it is color-neutral so that all the beauty of the winter grey should still show through.
I've got a winter grey and sometimes it almost has a purple cast to it. I like it a lot but sometimes it seems a little flat in really bright sunlight. From a dozen yards away the car looks perfectly clean, but on closer inspection there's a good amount of dirt. My previous car was sort of champagne gold/grey, and I'm pretty sure that I'm going to have to wash my Prius more often than my old car.
I liked magnetic gray and planned on buying a gray Prius. But I really don't care for the new winter gray color. So, we're buying silver instead.
I had two choices for a 2010 - silver and winter grey. Since my wife had a 2007 silver she thought the next one should be different so I took the Grey and have been very satisfied. It looks different based on what kind and how much light is hitting it. It appears much darker, almost black in the shade yet has a very attractive blue tint in the sun. Along with a pin stripe located on the upper crease, in my opinion it is a very nice combination. I have driven it about 1500 miles, in both rain and dry weather, and it does not show any dirt yet, although there is no car that can claim it does not get dirty in the New England winter.
