I Know, I know, the fog light issue has been raised before, but I am getting antsy to take the next step. It has been well documented that no one (except for the 2010 model 5 owners) are happy about the gray covers where the fog lamps are supposed to be. There are some aftermarket options available, and I am considering the Bling Light option which is ~$90 in the PC store and ~$72 directly from the Blight Light dudes. I have absolutely no mechanical aptitude , so I will need to hire someone to do this. The Bling Lights have a sorta blue housing, but I have a ribbon blue car, so I am okay w/ it. Has anyone gone this route yet? If so, what was the success? Approximately how much will it cost for me to have this installed, and where should I go for installation (what type of place)? What do you think and what do you suggest? Any input that folk can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! :cheer2:
Easy on the smiles there buddy. I have seen the ones they offer on PC shop, but I would strongly advise holding out for a few more weeks until other aftermarket lights are available. I am guessing someone will make a xenon fog light that comes with matching bulbs to swap out your headlights. These things come with instructions. It's really not that hard.
I don't like the gray covers either but honestly they probably put out almost as much light as my 2005 fog lamps.
I have the ones from PC shop on order. I'll post an update once I get them in. If I can't install them or don't have time, I will have my local tint shop install them.
I have the bling lights installed on one side to see how it looks. I also ordered the factory trim pieces for $92. The trim does not go back to a parallel plane with the front of the car so if you recess the lights all the way around and point straight forward there is a good 3/4 to 1 inch gap between the lens and the trim toward the center of the car, it looks stupid. so I move them out 3/8 inch and rotated outward slightly and they look pretty nice. I still haven't wired them to test if light works angled out it might have to angle back in. I will let you know when I am finished with it.
