Hello, Ladies and Gentlemen. Great forum you guys have here. Looks like the destination for all things Prius. I work for a company that currently builds products for several models of Toyota vehicles. Our products are sold on the car as Port or Dealer installed options across the country. For our next project, I'm looking for at least one, maybe two Prius owners in the Baton Rouge, LA area for a Research and Development project I have ongoing in this area. Details of the project will be provided with 1 on 1 contact, so as not to fill the forums with un-needed 411. If you're interested, you'll have to be willing to part with your Prius (or hang out here with it) for 2 to 3 hours, probably 3 or 4 times. Compensation won't be big bucks, but you will be one of the first in the world to have the newly completed product FREE OF CHARGE, well before the rest of the world. Interested parties should PM at your earliest convenience. Thanks, and have a great day!
For anyone wondering who this vendor is, it appears to be Bazooka. On behalf of PriusChat, we appreciate your interest in the Prius and look forward to any future audio enhancements you can offer. That's one of the bigger complains about the "premium" audo system.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(NTRCPTR\";p=\"90934)</div> I live near Pensacola, FL, but New Orleans is still a good 225 miles away or so. I'd love to help if it were closer (if this is for a Bazooka, note that I am *constantly* hauling stuff, so a normal tube just wouldn't cut it for me. Nor would anything in the under floor cargo box (mine is always full). The only sub box that makes sense to me, and that I'll probably have to end up making, is a 10" in the passenger rear quarter, above the 12V battery, with an amp under one of the front seats).
I'm surprised there aren't any. I KNOW I saw some postings on 2004-Prius about an owner or 2 in that area. You might want to try posting there. I could swing driving out there once, maybe twice, but the problem is one of those times would have to be on a weekend, so that my wife and I could hit Six Flags. The other time would still probably have to be a weekend to avoid taking time off from work (but if you could do the work in one day, I could take a day off. It would just be a LONG day). Can you PM me an address, so I can Mapquest it to see how long a trip it would be? Hint - 10" sub would be preferred to 8". Though the 8" would probably be enough for most people, 10" will still get a bit lower on the bass and still have tight kick drum action.
Yes that would be nice to know so we will know what kind of audio enhancment we can hopfully expect sometime in the future.
I'm not sure yet. We'd need to work on the car to really figure it out. What I do know is that it will be a subwoofer very similar to what you could purchase in the Scion TC or the Toyota Double Cab. Size, shape, power is all still up in the air pending work on a vehicle. Address is 15049 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA, 70819
