Finally my theory was that only old people drive gold prii. Yes, there are exceptions but the numbers above support this idea. Other conclusions can be made from this data but I'll leave that up for everyone to discuss. LOL, I could have told you that. Byt it's not a reverse theory. That is only old people drive gold Prii but old people don't only drive gold prii. BTW, what's your definition of old? (I'm probably one of them) Actually I would have liked to seen the geogaphical data. My theory is that most Gold Prii are found in Flordia and Arizona, but I gess then it's debatable if it's because of the location or the fact that people retire there. I was amazed at the "old" people that drive these. They seem to perhaps outnumber the young "Green" people.
Gosh! This is making me seriously re-consider my color choice! I'm getting a gold Prius. My first choice was Winter Grey, but a gold was easier to get...and given that I'm planning to move to Texas, I wanted a light color (since, as someone mentioned above, Prius drivers are smarter than the average person and consider geography when selecting a color). I refused to buy a white car and my husband's car is silver-that leaves gold...but does that mean y'all are going to see me driving down the street and assume I'm 70+?
Well I thought I could have told you that too but wanted to get some data. My definition of old? Probably over 50? I don't think people depend on location as much as youd think when picking a color car. I like your idea though that warmer places tend to have older people anyway thats a good point. I'm not too amazed, the Prius is still a pretty expensive car. I don't really know very many green people my age. Btw The average age of everyone in the survey was 45.
I'd be curious to see the median age rather than the mean age, to see if that makes a difference (lies, damn lies, and statistics).
I am still waiting for my Gen III Prius, but I am a 26 year old male and I want a Blizzard Pearl, but my second choice is Winter Gray Metallic... whichever is available to me first it will be.
I'm not certain which poll responders were able to get their 1st or even their 2nd color choice. It seems to me though that more than age, the overriding factor is what quantity of each color was made available by the marketeers at Toyota.
34 years old and got a Blizzard Pearl III w/ Nav. I originally wanted black, but would have had to wait 3 months instead of 1 month... The dark gray interior and large windows get so hot mid-day I'm happy I went with the blizzard.
32 - Blizzard Pearl - preferred color Blizzard pearl is classier than plain white, and if not available I would have chosen red or blue instead. Nothing wrong with white... I have a white Sienna and like it a lot. It would be interesting to see histograms for each color vs. age. Easy for me to say, but you get to do all the work.
If I saw you coming up Bluemound or 45, I'd assume you had good taste since gold would be my first choice - but color is less of an issue to me than availability when I need it - as long as it is NOT black. Moving back to Brookfield tomorrow, Patricia (age 39)
Wife (58): 2007 Prius II Barcelona Red, dealer-installed light grey leather (first choice). Me (55): 2010 Prius III Blizzard White, Aqua (Ash Grey) leather (first choice too) - delivery September . Because Blizzard White will become very common in Europe I would have considered something else, but apart from the Barcelona Red (which we already have) there's not really any alternative. The Sandy Beach (gold) is not offered here, nor is the Bisque interior.
