Is the first thing on this page (http://toyota.jp/prius/dop/function/index.html ) a factory DC to AC inverter? If it is, that's pretty cool. Is Japanese power compatible with US (same frequency/voltage)?

Does anyone know what 2, 3, 5, and 6 (counting down the left column first, then the right column second) are?

Ok... I asked in another thread once but this one is more active. Can the Japan center unit be replaced into an American unit? I am interested in the stock Mini Disc drive.

The frequency of AC Japanese power is 50 or 60Hz depending on the "east" or "west" Japan. Many appliances don't mind, but the clocks in electronic equipment can run slow as a result.

I love those scuff plates but I just can't justify the cost.

You can get those lights from a Scion dealer or make your own from computer lights :D

That's cargo liner looks good. Even has raised edges.

    Thanks SanZan,

I'm interested in the A/C inverter, but I'm still worried about the incompatibility. I'm actually very surprised that Japan has _two_ A/C standards. It seems like it would make a mess of things (I guess it's pretty tolerable the way you explain it). Do they design things like the Prius A/C inverter to be configurable to either 60 or 50 Hz?

Also, I read on Wikipedia that Japan uses plugs which have blades the same size, but the Japan Prius Website shows the plug is keyed...

    Good stuff!

I'd suggest forgetting about the inverter. The problem is that it is 100 volts. That's brownout quality power in North America and would stress a lot of items. Also, 100 watts is pretty anemic. Name brand plug into the cigarette lighter inverters can be had dirt cheap. (I found a 375w TrippLite for under $50)

Now the electrochromatic mirror without all the homelink buttons.......nice

I didn't realize it was 100 volts, but doing a quick google confirms that. That certainly is a deal-breaker. I didn't really need it anyways, I just kind of wanted it cause it was a neat accessory. The entire point would be to not have to carry around one of the 12V accessory outlet inverters anyways, of which I already own a 75W one.

I'm not sure what you really need where 100W is counsidered anemic. Short of running an incandescent light bulb or a desktop computer, 100W or even 75W for that matter is fine for laptops, charging PDAs/cell phones, portable DVD players, etc. Keep in mind that while a 375W inverter sounds nice, you are actually limited to 180W due to the 15A fuse for the accessory outlets.

You could get the full power by connecting it directly to the battery. DC/DC converter would recoup the current draw just fine.

Can you see if there would be enough interest in the alum kick panels for a group buy?

I am interested in the leather steering wheel too. I got a rough quote from an upholstery shop and they said it would cost about $1g to have it wrapped posts and all not a wheel skins over. Mainly because they had to make a template and fit it from scratch.
It would be awesom if we can get a factory wheel from Japan.
