I've got a really queasy feeling right now, about two hours after being in a collision with my Prius. Nobody hurt;all is well -- expect the front end of the car looks awful. At least $10k in damage. I think maybe this had to do with KARMA or some type of divine retribution. Why? I was heading to the theater to be one of the first to see BRUNO. It's a sign I tell you -- it's a sign. Beware the Bruno.
Typo: should have said TEN GRAND. It's toast. I'll try to get some pix up soon... Little side window broken, RF fender crumpled, passenger door dented, headlight damaged, Tire/Wheel pushed about 6 inches inward. The main point of impact was the right tire.
If it does get repaired, I wonder how quickly does Toyota stock parts for these cars at their dealer. Glad that you weren't injured! Good luck with the car.
So you were hit. I hope that they were well insured? Did anyone get hurt? Speaking on insurance, does anyone know if any insurance companies allow you to request (and recieve) only OEM parts? To me, anything else will lower the value of the vehicle, not to mention it's quality. Most times I have been told that they (STate Farm in my case) will allow me to ask for OEM, but I will pay difference between OEN and replacements. I am willing to pay a premium 'premium' for this type of coverage, but have never heard of anyone offering that coverage. (Kind of like a replacement value clause in a homeowners policy).
Oh man - that so sucks. Sorry. Did the airbags go off? Underhood - mechanical damage? How many miles did you have on it. Damn Bruno.
Well I reckon you are so luck that the air bags didn't go off. If they had, you would have caused extensive damage to the car :bump2:
Seriously, I really am sorry that your new car was wrecked. However I am happy to hear that nobody was seriously hurt. New cars generally do a very good job protecting the occupants. You can always get a new car. It is a bit more difficult getting your body repaired. Best Wishes, Keith
Sorry to hear about this, but the important thing is that nobody was hurt. It's only a car--it can be repaired or replaced.
Sorry to hear that (and sorry that you had to be the first one). Hopefully there aren't any minor injuries that aren't detected at first. Glad to hear you're ok.
I don't know what it is with getting a new car, but my dad bought a new car and wrecked (totaled) it not even a week later. He hadn't had an accident in 20 years. I remember in college I bought a new car and got t-boned on the side after a month of ownership. That was about $5k in damage. I hadn't had an accident since in 7 years. Just kind of odd...
It is JUST a car. No one was hurt. Really, dont worry. Be glad you are safe and alive. Bummer definitely but could have been much worse.
Thanks, Everybody. Nobody was hurt. Insurance adjuster will get on it Monday. It's at a Certified Toyota body shop. Hope I can get some pictures up soon.
