Hi all-We finally got our Prius V with Nav in Winter Gray Metallic with Misty gray leather from Toyota of Vero Beach. We had a deposit down at a dealer down here in North Dade, but they were basically receiving no 2010 Prius' (like 2-3 in a 45 day period). So, when we found the exact one we wanted in Vero, we were very excited. At first, we were hesitant since they were charging the dealer fee (the dealer down here was going to waive it), and they added the Toyo Guard. However, in the long run, it's not that much more. Plus, we are already way over miles on our current lease and paying a ton in gas (@ approx 16 mpg). All in all, it was a great experience with the dealer and we are very happy so far. Have only had it a day and husband drove it from Vero to our house in Southwest Broward last night. Said it's very quiet, very smooth ride. Seems very comfortable. Have 2 car seats in the back (Britax marathon and Britax booster) and kids have plenty of room. Also have a Peg Perego stroller in the cargo area, with room to spare for groceries, etc. We are doing a road trip from South Florida, to St. Augustine, to South Carolina in about 2 weeks, so I will try to do a detailed post after that, as we will be traveling with our 2 kids, 2 car seats, luggage, and Maclaren stroller at that time. It should be interesting, none the less, but I am very excited to see what gas mileage we get. It will def. be different switching from an SUV to a car in general, but for every day trips to the store, my daughter's school....all those back and forths, I think it will be great. And, my SUV was not all that roomy to begin with (the prius is replacing an '06 Infiniti FX35). Good luck to all of you still waiting.
Congratulations neighbor. I traded a 16MPG MDX 3 1/2 years ago when I bought my first Prius, so I know the feeling. You'll love your Gen III; it's a perfect South Florida car.
Congrad's I am picking up my 2010 V with Nav this Sunday. It is Winter Grey with dark grey interior. I can't wait. I live in South Florida as well, in Boynton Beach and I am purchasing in South Florida. I will post pictures and all info as well.
Thanks everyone. And, Vincent. We were sure we were going to go with the new MDX, thought for sure we'd move up to a 7 seater, etc, etc. Needless to say it feels good to "downsize". Got the windows tinted today (a must down here), and I have to say it looks awesome. It's actually much easier driving this around town and getting the kids in and out, than in my FX35. Drspielman...you will love yours in the winter grey. Can't wait to see pics of it with the darker grey interior!
I'll be looking forward to your pics - the more the merrier! My dealer just told me he has a winter grey with dark grey coming in at the end of the month and if I want it, it's mine.
Got the tint at Cartronics. They are bit pricier than some other places ($213 total with tax, they charge a bit extra for those tiny windows and the back strip). But, it is guaranteed for life and can be fixed/repaired by any lumiere (?spelling) dealer if need be. My husband has a 2003 350Z that was done there six years ago and it still looks like new. He also had his car alarm done there. They are great. They have a location in Pembroke Pines, NMB (where I ended up going cause that's where there tinter was at that day), and a few others, but not sure where. The tint really does make a huge difference with the South Florida heat. Now....I just need to figure out how to work all the gadgets on the car.
