Do you think I will need to? Oh yeah that link where they want you life history and a DNA sample before you can contact them and then the link is bad. Been through that one. Look, I hope Ford turns things around. I just didn't buy from them this time. Enjoy your Ford.
sorry U don't like the link how do I get 65 MPG (Prius hypermile) ? ((silly question caus no Prius or spare time here_))
But how can this be? Don't ford use unionised labour too? Sorry, I just don't get it! I have been told on these very forums that the reason for the downfall of GM and Chrysler was not the failure of management but the result of a unionised workforce. How did Ford manage to escape having a unionised workforce? Or did they?
I did average 62mpg on last tank and had it higher at times. Yeah I was watching how I drove but I did manage to get the car running around 45 mph on roads that were posted 45 and not kill the mileage to bad and not PO people around me. It sure beats the hell out of my Explorers 14mpg. I'll also admit that when I run the Prius at 65 to 70 mph, the gas mileage drops dramatically to 49-50mpg. It is still fun to drive. Isn't FordChat looking for you?
65 mpg?? not possible!!!...oh wait...hmmm??...now that i think of it, my MFD said i did better than that, so maybe
I never said 65 mpg wasn't possible? Not sure why you directed that at my quote? Instead of being cute and writing your thought process as you try to formulate them in your head, cut to the chase, could you please clearly write what your point is. I don't know you or what you drive? I don't know if you drive a Prius or think you have something better, just say it clearly with out the "oh...wait...hmmmm? now that I think about it...hmmmm...uhhh...maybe...". Example: I drive car X and I think it is better than car Y because _________. This is the Prius Chat Forum. But it seems to be attracting a number of non Prius folks that are here to tell us to buy something else. Motives are highly suspect. What drives people to these actions? Motivators for actions are: love, hate, need, fear. Possible reasons for them being here. They need to see customers buying their brand of car. They have a fear their car company is going to fail. They hate Prius because it is a threat to their car company, livelihood, investments. They could feel a need to defend something they love and believe in. I am on the Prius Chat Forum because I own a Prius and want to be able to network with other Prius owners on things Prius related. Much like when Corvette owners get together and talk about Corvettes. We Prius owners like to do that too, but it is Prius, thus the name of the site Prius Chat Forum.
I looked at the FFH and would have bought it except for two things: 1. Seeing out the back is surprisingly difficult ala Prius EVEN using the camera and 2. The dealership said that the FFH would be limited in numbers for a while so NO dealing on the price!!! That coupled with the fact that I could get a 2009 Camry Hybrid and a $2000 rebate sealed the deal for me. My wife and I both love our new 2009 Camry Hybrid!
The only way I could get the FFH to be close to the TCH deal was with the tax credit and X Plan pricing (which not all dealers would honor and which I understand may have been pulled now for the FFH) and it was still about $1K higher. Still I went with the Prius because I already had the TCH and wanted something different and I coulnd't justify the FFH based on the TCH pricing.
The reason thy are on Pruis Chat is the few that own other hybrids are tired of talking to each other or can't even find a forum for the other x brands.
Personally I think we can welcome Ford Fusion Hybrid owners who drop by.. The FFH and Prius share the same kind of hybrid drive system after all. Many of the lessons learned on the Prius can be directly translated to the FFH, including pulse-and-glide and stealth techniques, the use of an engine block heater in the colder climates, grille blocking, etc.
Don't count on getting the full hybrid tax credit if you qualify for any of the other misc. credits listed in the same section on form 1040.
When I was looking the credit was still $3400. It's only $1700 now and soon to go down further. I've never had a problem with the AMT.
wow.. this forum really is a mess... mr 2010 prius.. he was poking fun saying he gets more miles per gallon than you event though others say it's not possible. btw.. toyota charges to diagnose anything too. that's why i won't take my car to toyota to get the lights turned off. i go to my smog tech friend who can read me codes that i copy and search online and hear.... so i can fix them myself. otherwise.. all those repairs on your ford... cheap. frequent.. yet cheap. my family owns fords.. i've seen such higher repairs i kinda laugh inside. i know this is Priuschat... but in real life.. it's more like hybridchat. we like to chat about everything on here. as for ford and toyota license crap... uhh... ford did develop their system.. but then they got a looking over from toyota and they said you violated some 100 or so pattents.. so they purchased those from toyota for x amount of model of cars.. just like nissan has the right to make 200k or 400k hybrids a year with the HSD setup. it all comes down to.... something needs to be fixed.. it comes from toyota...
I drove well over 200 miles today. I saw a new Fusion hybrid with dealer plates. It was awfully dirty. But, the Fusion body looked great. Tires appeared fairly wide on it. That said .... I saw no less than six 2010 Pri's today. They are coming on strong and are set to take over. I know that. I'm seeing a lot of Blizzard Pearl's out there.
Ford isn't safe yet. The reason Ford is not in bankruptcy right now is because in 2007 they mortgaged EVERYTHING including the blue oval trademark to borrow $23.6 billion. They have been burning through that money ever since. We have yet to see if this recession ends before they spend the last dollar. (Ford lost $14 billion in 2008) Ford has also benefited from the GM and Chrysler bankruptcies. First, they have negotiated similar union contracts as the ones GM and Chrysler got in bankruptcy. They have also attracted lots of former GM and Chrysler buyers that want to buy a American brand but don't want to buy from a company in bankruptcy. Ford has also done a lot with their product line both in making it more attractive and improving reliability. Ford has been doing a lot of things right lately but fundamentally they are still solvent because they took out a huge loan just before easy credit dried up. http://www.nytimes.com/2009/04/09/business/09ford.html
if thats what they want to talk about thats fine but read the posts of most of them and that not whats its about. I have no patience with FFH people coming on Pruis Chat talking Smack.
