I have seen messages about transferring phonebook but I can't seem to get the transfer done. Would like to talk to anyone in Kansas City area who has been able to transfer their phonebook from Nokia 6230 to the car.
Well... you don't actually transfer the entire phonebook in one go. You transfer a single entry at a time. Make sure Bluetooth is enabled on the 6230... Menu, 4, 6, 1, 1 Push the phone button on the wheel, navigate to the settings menu. Push the "transfer phonebook" option. On the phone, navigate to the number you want to transfer and select the "details." Then select "options." Then select "Send bus. card." Then select "via Bluetooth."
Yeah, I bought this same model phone specifically for the purpose of interacting with my Prius. I have been sadly disappointed by Nokia's failure to include a feature allowing us to transfer the entire phone book, or contact groups in one step. Make sure you put the car into transfer mode before the phone, or your connetions will be lost and you will have to start over, which is even more annoying than having to transfer entries one phone number (not even one person entry) at a time. I have been working on an alternate solution of getting my bluetooth-enabled Powerbook to transfer entries to the Prius. I will post in this forum if I have any luck.
OLY - I tried to transfer, one name at a time, without success. After I selected 'bluetooth', I thought that did it but when I clicked on 'phonebook' or whatever its called, I got message that it was empty. Any further instructions?
It can be done, but I don't think it's worth it. I just transferred a couple but there's a zillion buttons to push. I only need a few entries in the cary anyway so I'm either going to enter them manually or I'm just going to use my phone's speed dial. If the entry is not transferring, you've probably missed a step. I followed the directions above (I'm using the Nokia 6255i), and it worked fine.
