Where are the GST region cars shipped from? I am under the impression that they are sent by rail from the West coast. Can anyone update what boats are nearing or in that port?
Anything built in Japan ships to the port in Benecia (San Francisco), CA, and is then railed to GST's vehicle processing center in Houston, TX.
Would that include cars coming to Oklahoma??? I was told boat landing in Houston on 7/2 but maybe they meant arriving by rail to houston on 7/2. (and hopefully not boat arriving 7/2 but then must rail to houston and then truck to oklahoma)
yeah, I heard they are getting allocation some times this week. I hope they will have my Prius III with SR!!!!!!!!
I just got mine. It left the boat in Calif. then by rail to Houston and then by truck carrier to Norman. It arrived late 27 June 09, and I picked it up early on the 29th. If yours is due in on 7/2 then most likely you will have it a week later, I don't think it takes long at the port (depending on what add ons the port does) before it is put on a carrier and on to Oklahoma.
Yes OK is in GST region. GST rep confirmed to me all vehicles (other than the tundra built down the road in S.A.) come in by rail, not by boat.
Let me know what ship your Prius was or is on. Your dealer can give you a printout with vin and ship. 10 to 20 days should get it to your dealer by rail and truck. http://priuschat.com/forums/gen-iii-2010-prius-main-forum/61970-car-carrier-ship-tracking.html Just an fyi thread now but I can do requested updates. Search for other treads with specific ship.
The inventory manager at Round Rock Toyota told me yesterday that my Prius will be arriving (by rail) at the processing facility in Houston on July 8th, and that it should be at the dealership 4-6 days later. He said that he would not be able to get the VIN number until the car was received at the processing facility. I suspect that GST doesn't make that information available to their dealers as early as Toyota does for the rest of the country.
