Filling up in NY vs NJ...MPG differences

    As some of you may know, NY gas is 10% ethanol whereas this I believe is not the case in NJ.

    I was averaging about 47mpg on my last tank using NY fuel. On a recent trip to NJ I filled up there ($1.99!). Every since that I've been averaging 53mpg.

    It made a big difference (5mpg!). Anyone else have this experience?

    yes Washington State requires E10 and my milege dropped 11% on the tank I bought down there. Nice how you pay the same for a product that drops your mileage.

    I attribute it ot the difference between "red states" and "blue states."

    Both NY and NJ are "blue states".
