So far mine is velcroed to the top of the stalk housing behind the steering wheel. Make sure the telescoping wheel is pushed in all the way first, insuring the velcro goes on the portion that is always exposed. Blendmount, mentioned in one, two, three previous threads (and a few more) looks promising, but I haven't sprung for it yet.
The sticky side of velcro will never touch any part of my vehicles. It can be a pain to remove and even damage what it was stuck to.
Fits perfectly in the small box below the cd player with extra cable tucked behind. No velcro or any other permanent fitting. Can be removed any time and i can use scanguage buttons as well.
That small box in your 2005 must match the one on my older Subaru, and it is a great ScanGauge location. I had to bore a hole in the back of the box so the cable could pass behind the dash, and add a bit of nonslip rubber mat for a friction fit. But the 2010 P-II has no such box.
well, not the best but ok. i used double sided tape and put right under where drive would be on shifter, its at an angle but works well, i accidentally found a great location for my garmin 150. that is in in the pocket of the drink holder closest to shifter, it nestles in and works as well as being easy for me to see fred from nashville
I got the left A-pillar mount from pro-clip. The nicest bracket I've seen from them. ProClip Mounting System - Device Holders and Dashboard Vehicle Mounts I bent a piece of aluminum to cradle the SG from behind and screwed that to the proclip, and ran the cable from the back jack on the SG, down behind the trim along the front of the door (to the side of the dash. No velcro for me...the heat makes the glue too soft and it fails. It's a nice clean solution and in a good location for the peripheral vision. I can post some photos if you'd like.
Velcroed to the steering column cover, between the steering wheel and the dash board. Easy to take a quick glance at it. I use the connector on the back, cable is tucked out of sight,
It looks great! how did you snake the wires? I am now thinking about getting one and putting it there.
I sent an e-mail to proclipusa to see if they'll make a Scanguage II device mount to attach to the "Toyota Prius 2010-2011 - ProClip Left Mount." From nyty-nyt's pics, that is exactly what I need. Anyone else interested should do the same so they'll know there is interest.

I bought the left pillar mount for my SG. I just bought the center console clip for my Droid 2 while I was on the proclip site. I was looking for a good place to put the phone (it does not fit in the tray under the armrest and it is pain to get to if needed. I use the holder from the stock belt clip and just bolt it to the mount. Thanks for the link to proclip!
