I just got a 2009 Prius. Plugged my Blackberry Storm (OS 4.7.0.148) in to play music via the aux jack and get terrible static when my Verizon car charger is plugged in...sounds great without the charger, but as you may know, the BB Storm is a battery hog and charging is a must while on the road. How do I get rid of that noise
You may need a ground loop isolator. See http://priuschat.com/forums/gen-ii-...9-iphone-aux-cable-in-prius-2.html#post838502. I'm surprised your 09 has it as there was a TSB on this at http://priuschat.com/forums/toyota-prius-service-bulletins-tsbs/46700-noise-aux-port-06-08-a.html. In theory, 09s should already have ths fix. I had the TSB done so I don't need the ground loop isolator anymore.
Just the question I was going to ask. Thanks for saving me the effort! Nice that there's a TSB on it, kinda crappy that Toyota doesn't tell you about it when it's a documented defect. Unfortunately I didn't start using my AUX until my vehicle was out of warranty.
Well, it wasn't documented until the TSB came out many months after people were discovering this. If you have <36K miles, you're still in warranty.
