Where were you when you got the call?

Every time the phone rings, my heart jumps. I can't take it anymore! GAH!

 

Wow i cant belive you haven't got yours yet with it arriving in the 5th. Mine arrived in Portland the 12th and dealer said this Friday (19th) it will be in.

 

After a few days of discussions between us and our dealership, we made an appointment to put a deposit on a car on that Friday afternoon. On Friday they didn't think the car would be in until early the next week. We were in giving the deposit to the finance guy, when our salesman came in to tell us the truck had just pulled up with our car. We picked it up the next morning.

Definitely better than the seven month wait the last time. And even then I didn't get the color I ordered. I just couldn't sit around reading about the car on PriusChat anymore and not have one.

 

Karrie - yep! Were you able to get any $$ off MSRP or free floor mats, etc.? I'm still begging!

 

Maybe location. My dealer said it would come in on the 16th, which is tomorrow...*looks at clock* oh, wait I guess technically it's today. If it doesn't get here soon enough though, it will have to wait until tomorrow. I'm going to St. Louis to watch the Cards beat the Detroit Tigers.

 

My silver IV with NAV was ordered on the 11th, due to arrive on or about the 22nd. This morning I had a nagging feeling that it would be here today, so I started gathering up the extra key and key tag, etc. At noon eastern I got the call, while I was in my home office getting some work done.

They'll start prepping it at 3 pm, and I should have it by 6 or so.:cheer2:

 

I was in my car on the way to the game when I got the call!!! I get to go pick "Anya" up tomorrow at 3:30pm.!!!

 

I was in the same place when my 2006 came in.

"Did my car come in yet?"
"No"
So I took a ride over to my dealer and sure enough, my 2010 had been delivered and was in almost the same spot that my 2006 was in when the dealer told me "No" in 2006.

Go figure; you think they'd want to get the cash in the bank ASAP!

 

I keep calling the dealer. They must be sick of me. However, I know now that my Red III (no packages) will be at the dealer between wednesday and friday, with me picking up shortly thereafter. Whooppeee!!!!!

 

I was driving by dealer and saw it coming off the big Lexus covered hauler So i knew it was in. That was Fri evening. Got it Saturday.

 

Got the call Thursday!!! "Would you like me to tint your windows tomorrow before you come pick it up, Lauren?" YES YES!! Wohooo!!!:cheer2: Picked it up at 7pm on Friday (dealer 1 hr away)

Got a call from local dealer THE NEXT MORNING!! "Lauren, we got your car in! Give me a call!" Oh...if he'd only called to let me know it was on his way. Lost out on an EASY sale!!!hone:

 

Got the call yesterday afternoon...dealer said it will be at least another 8 weeks before our Blue/IV/SR arrives. :frown:

We pre-ordered back in early April and thought the Chicago area would get more cars than average but apparently what we are looking for is quite popular.

 

I just got the call at noon. They are trading with a dealer in PA for a Blue Ribbon w/Gray interior Pri IV w/SR. They want me to take delivery by end of month. Have to go see them on my trade in (2006 Pri fully loaded) at 4.

Any tips or suggestions on getting the best deal on my trade? :cheer2:

 

I commented on the other thread. This is pretty generous of both dealers to work this out. However you still don't know what they are going to offer you. Look up the value of your car and just because they are doing this for you does not mean you need to buckle for the deal. They may indeed pressure you some telling you what they are doing for you and all the trouble and cost it is putting them through by giving up 2 cars for yours (which will cost them money in the long run.)

If you are financially able and really want the SR model, which seems to be in demand, can you financially, if need be, afford to go ahead and purchase the car and then sale yours later? If you can do that then deal the best you can on the selling price first before you talk trade, making sure they commit to at least MSRP and when you see the trade, if it's not close to where you need to be or they start telling you how grateful you should be, then I'd say I am grateful, I'll buy the car since you are going to this trouble for me. I appreciate that. But I'll just keep my Prius so you don't have to worry about unloading it.

I really would expect a lowball figure on your car. If it's a nice car with low milage I wouldn't want to give it away.

Got the call this morning while I was in a meeting with the vice president of the university. I felt my phone vibrating in my pocket and I knew it was the call for the car. do not know why, but when I woke up this morning I just knew today was gonna be the day. Sure enough it is!

 

My car was to hit port (Houston) a few days ago and today I called the sales manager and asked for a status. He told me he had a load number (it was on a carrier) in Houston and would be here before Tuesday.

At 8:25pm he called me and said my car was at the dealership! Did I want to come and get it? He could not get it serviced since service was closed, but I could drive it and bring it back Monday to finish everything up. They close at 9:00pm and I live 30 minutes away so I told him I would come in around 10:00am on monday and take care of it all.

I want to make sure I get the backup beep, doors open when driver door unlocks and I want the 12 mph door lock. Also I want to make sure the cargo net is securely fastened.

So I guess I can wait another day or so to get it.

 

I was reeling in a 90 lb. alligator gar in a local bayou when my dealer left a message on my phone that the 2010s had arrived. True story, lol.

 

I think this one wins for most unique (and interesting) story!

 

Just got the call five minutes ago. Will be heading out shortly to pick up my Gen III -V w/ Nav - Sandy Beach metallic. Since it's my first hybrid, the evening will be spent absorbing the 600 page manual.
