This is the car that I'm picking up tomorrow. It hasn't been "prep" yet, but I noticed the wheels are quite different than all other Prius IIs... is it because they have yet to add the wheel covers on them?
yup.... looks normal to me.. the dealer hasn't installed the wheel covers yet. I like the look [/quote]
just get the chrome centre caps and ask the dealer to pop them on instead of the wheel covers. Keep the wheel covers for when you feel like a change of look.
I'm debating keeping the covers off of mine. Ok, this is probably a stupid question, but do you guys think there is ANY measurable difference in aerodynamics without the wheel covers on?
Ask them not to install the front license plate holder. I am taking mine off but not sure what to do about the holes. Would have like the option of not having it installed on the first place. I'll probably gain 0.2 MPG
I bought my center caps on eBay and they really set off the wheel. I did not care for the hubcaps at all. When the tires wear out, I'm going with a 16-inch chrome wheel. I drove 131 miles up and down mountains and achieved 50 mpg. The hubcap only covers half of the wheel. The air is still moving around the spokes in the rear. I think any loss would be minimal. Dan
Here's a website where they sell color coded plugs! I believe Jabber recommended this place to someone else and I noted the site for future reference. BumperPlugs.com
I think I am missing something here. Why does everybody want to get rid of the wheel covers that come with the car? They look okay to me.
