I painted my headlights with Eurolight ice blue. I got it at autobacs in orange county last weekend and I did it myself :D

    Be careful.

Emitting blue light from a non-emergency vehicle is illegal in many states.

Good tip about the emitting of blue light being illegal.

That said, the ice blue headlight paint appears to be a cosmetic touch to make his headlight covers look "cooler." I doubt it significantly affects the output of the light, let alone turn it a shade of blue that would arouse the attention of law enforcement officers.

It can't be any worse than the HID headlights.

Okay I uploaded the picture here. I would say so far this mod is unoticable to the cops. I saw another silver prius in the orange county area with the same light blue tint. Say hi if you are here!!!

Hmm.. that kinda looks like an 06+ Prius or any new Toyota hybrid. They all have blue tinted covers lol.

Btw, that looks like an 04/05 Prius but your profile says 2006.

what are the cosmetic differences in the PRIUS from 2004-2009? was there ever a facelift done? i just got the last of the NHW20 in white about two weeks ago... i chose this as compared to the GenIII as i didn't like the bigger size of the GenIII... almost too much like what a soccer mum would drive....

Interesting look ( I like it). So, this is a paint? It seems like there would be a tinted film you could get - like the clear 3M chip protector film that is tinted to do the same thing. Did you paint the inside of the leans or the outside?

    Thanks for posting the pic.

There was a very minor facelift between 2005 and 2006 model years.

    - Front grille bar (just below the Toyota logo) is body colour on 2004/5 and chrome (well, chrome-like plastic) after that
    - Separator between indicator and headlamp is plain before and chrome with dots after
    - Similar change between lamps on the rear lamp cluster
    - The brake lights are tinted on the earlier cars and clear on the later ones.

I'd say the pictured car is an 05/06 because the front grille bar is body coloured. Hard to tell on a silver car of course!

    Mike's got it covered.

In addition, the front lower plastic "spoiler" is different as well as the new HYBRID emblems are attached to the front fenders.

    That would've been the facelift.

Odd that you say that cause the Gen III is nearly the same size as the Gen II. It's 0.6 of an inch longer, exactly the same height and about an inch wider.
