Are "factory-chrome wheels" available as an option on either the 15" or 17" rims equipped on the 2010 Prius. Or . . is just the stock alloy wheels that would be "chromed" as an after market product?
Thanks! OK then . . . anyone have any idea what the cost would be (per wheel) to "chrome" a 2010 Prius alloy wheel?
Judging from the $575 price charged by a shop on eBay with respect to the Gen II 15" wheel, I'm guessing most shops would charge about $600 to chrome 4 wheels: (4) 15" Toyota Prius Chrome Exchange OEM Wheels Rims:eBay Motors (item 280355238653 end time Jul-06-09 20:13:25 PDT)
For the 2010's standard 15" full wheel cover, my guess is that an aftermarket wheel cover manufacturer will soon come out with a good quality knockoff wheel cover in chrome for about $75 for four. They did that for the Gen II Prius 15" wheel and the current generation Camry wheel. I have a set for my Gen II Prius. I think they look great (not as great as chroming the wheel, but great nonetheless), and have the advantage of being $500 cheaper and much lighter than chroming the stock wheels.
If anyone can live with the gray wheel covers then they should be satisfied with chrome ones. That's a pretty cheap upgrade. Do they make "Baby Moon" disc for the Prius
I got my Chrome WheelSkin covers from AutoAmenity.com for $74.50 (including shipping). AutoAmenity.com sells quite a few covers, trim rings, hub caps, etc. at decent prices. Here's the link to the Gen II Prius covers: IMP-324 Toyota Prius Chrome Wheelskins Hubcaps, Hot Chrome Look for Styled Wheels But there's an eBay store that sells the Chrome WheelSkin covers for even less -- just $69.98 (including shipping): 2005-2009 TOYOTA PRIUS 15" CHROME WHEELSKINS HUBCAPS:eBay Motors (item 290324886062 end time Jul-16-09 23:04:09 PDT) Several PriusChatters have gotten Chrome WheelSkins for their Gen II Prius. I first found out about them from this thread: http://priuschat.com/forums/gen-ii-prius-main-forum/60560-chrome-wheel-skins.html
