I just called my dealer about my 2010 III with Nav package that I put on order about a month ago, and he told me that they were not delivering any IIIs with Navs to NJ and it would have to be a special order and would take another month. I need my new ride by mid-July, but I need the nav system with Bluetooth for my wife. Any thoughts?
I don't know of any in the South Jersey area who has them now, but I do know that Conicelli Toyota in the Philadelphia area has them in stock now.
If you really need it by mid-July, consider taking a III without nav and adding a garmin, or other portable NAV system. It will be a hell of a lot cheaper. The integrated NAV systems are definitely cool, but they aren't flawless. This way you still have fully integrated Bluetooth as well. Also, there are lots of IIIs coming in these days, so you won't be stuck with no car.
It wouldn't surprise me. Often NJ dealers will try to put NAV packages on the higher trims. They're probably only putting them on IVs & Vs to try to drive people who want NAV to a more expensive car. It would be worth it to check other dealers. In what part of NJ are you? If you're South or West, check the Pennsy dealers. If you're Northeast, check NY. Or check another NJ dealer. I have a list of NJ dealers & numbers. PM me and I'll send it to you.
Yeah, different regions have different "option restrictions." Like, I'm in VA (Central Atlantic Region), and they don't offer the Package III with Solar Roof (they do offer the Nav, though), which is what I want. My dealer said they are special ordering it as well, so there will be a wait, but I don't know how long. BTW, you can tell exactly what options are available in your region by going to toyota.com, select "Build Your Toyota," put in your zip, "Prius," and start selecting options. If the option doesn't show up, it's not available in your region. If you put in a zip for another state in a different region, you'll see different options. NJ is in the "New York Region." Also, the region map is here: http://priuschat.com/forums/attachm...4618-toyota-sales-region-map-regionallist.pdf How far away are you from PA? They are in a different region (Central Atlantic), and I know that they do offer Package III with Nav. You could check out a dealer there and see what they can do for you.
I'm in Northern Jersey, close to NYC. I have checked the inventory list of other dealerships nearby but not much came up, and not what I was looking for. Thanks for all the advice so far!
You're still not too far from PA. Even if the nearest PA dealership doesn't have exactly what you're looking for, they might be more likely to get it sooner than a NJ dealership, since they are in a different region which does offer that option.
This is a great suggestion. Depending on how close you are to I-78, check the Lehigh Valley dealers (Allentown, Bethlehem, Easton). If you're closer to I-80, check the Poconos.
Proco...... What shore do you live near? I was wondering if you saw the Prius at Gateway Toyota, Toms River or World Toyota in Lakewood. Gateway has $4500 MVA and Lakewood has $3000 MVA. Have you seen any in Jersey selling for sticker with 0 add ons? If you have let me know what dealers. Thanks
I haven't driven by my local dealer (Galaxy Toyota in Eatontown) in a while, so I don't know what they have. You could try them or Freehold Toyota to see what they have. Another suggestion for people looking for a specific package/options ... try working through your bank. I got my last 2 cars ('03 Accord & '06 Prius) through my credit union's auto finder service. I told them what I was looking for and they called me when they had something. I was even able to get my Prius at 500 under MSRP when gas was pushing $3/gallon.
It's because the Jersey State Dept. doesn't want anyone to figure out how to leave the state sorry: as a NYer, I couldn't help myself )
