    Yes I got the code. I reset it and it was fine for about 20 miles. Checked it again last night, the coolant was flowing and the pump was whinning. Reset it again and drove it about 20 miles, not problems. Voltage, state of charge and amps were appropriate. I have shown the wife where to look for the flow and what to listen for if the cristmas tree lights up again.

    Any other ideas to look for. This is the first problem with 148,000 miles on my 05

    Had you replaced the engine and inverter coolants at 100K miles?

    I suggest that you have the inverter coolant pump replaced now. Sounds like it is marginal.

    The engine coolant system has a capacity of ~9 US qt but I was able to add only ~6 qt even after opening all three drains.

    The inverter coolant system probably has a capacity of around 2-3 qt. If you buy three gallons of Toyota SLLC that will be safe, you may end up using only two gallons.

    If you plan to DIY note that it is not easy to get the air out of the engine coolant system because of the presence of the coolant heat recovery pump and canister. I posted about this topic last year. Plan to spend lots of time to get air out of the system. The inverter side is not too hard. If you don't have the Toyota repair manual info you can download this for a subscription fee at techinfo.toyota.com

    I believe I am looking at an intermittent pump failure.

    I went to Champion Toyota (they are also on the internet) and purchased a new pump $87 SLL antifreeze $14/gal and transmission oil.

    I guess I will be busy this weekend. I will let y'all know how it comes out.

    I am south, next to Manvel if you know where that is.

    I changed my transmission oil yesterday between rain storms. Took about 15 minutes. Most of that was walking back to the shop to get my torque wrenches. Tonight I will do the inverter coolant.

    Took about 1/2 hr to actually change the pump. Took longer to drain the coolant out. It is easier to remove the hoses after the pump is unbolted. Then fish them around out of the way. Plug in the new pump before you bolt it down. Go to home depot and buy 5/16 clear hose. put a piece on the purge nipple and open the valve. Put the other end in the reservoir and then fill the reservoir. When it is full, push the power button on the dash twice, do not push on the brake. This will start the pump but will not start the car. start filling the reservoir as the pump will pull it down pretty fast.

    I also changed the coolant in the ICE at the same time. It was not nearly as bad as everyone makes it sounds. Pull back the drivers side inner wheel liner and unplug the hot tank. You have to get to it anyway to drain it. I did not want to mess with relays. When you are ready to refill it, fill the reservoir up and cap it. Fill the radiator and have a helper ready to squeeze the upper radiator hose. It is in front of the inverter. Squeeze it and hold it until the radiator will not take any more the release. Repeat repeatedly. After that is done, take it on a drive, about 8 miles on 288 to heat it up. You have to have the heater on low fan and MAX HOT or the heater will not heat up. I put it on the vents so I could feel the heat. When the heat comes out, you can turn down the heat. I did this at about 5 pm. I let it cool for a couple hours and then I rechecked it. The level had not gone down any. You have to physically remove the radiator cap. I then went on a bout a 15 mile ride. I parked it for the night. In the morning (this morning) I checked it. The radiator and reservoir were both down a little. Fill the reservoir up to the cold mark. Fill the radiator up all the way. Remember to give that radiator hose a few squeezes. Reinstall the top shield on the radiator. Took it for a drive from hwy 6 to 1462 and back. I live at 288 and hwy 6. Water temp was 184 - 188 all the way. Now just watch the reservoir tanks for abut 1-2 wks. If you need assistance, let me know. I have a lift and it makes the job much easier.

    Recent post but my 2007 G2 with 98000 miles has been popping up with the P0A93 for about the last week. I had theEngine Coolant Inverter Water Pump Assembly two days ago and still the codes come up. I tried bleeding the lines. The coolant level is full. Yet still the codes come up? For now is it safe to drive? How do I fix it permanently?

    Yes as long as you don't far or fast. If the light comes up stop and let the inverter cool, then continue.
