Have any of you 2010 owners had a clear shield applied? I've done it for my last 3 cars, and I think help, especially in the plastic headlight areas. Our QX56 has it, but it is faded. Im assuming its from leaving it in the sun and outdoors constantly, and never washing it... My E55 shield is perfect though, with some discoloration on the edges. I think when I get my prius, I would just do the headlights.
I'm going to have at least the Basic Package from this Web site (Northwest Autoshield : Clear Film Vehicle Protection) installed on my car. I'm also contemplating having the front bumper covered as well. Does anybody with a Gen II Prius have rock chips on their front bumper? I'm wondering if it would be worthwhile to have this area covered.
I regret not getting the 3m clear bra for our 2006 Honda Civic Hybrid. It has 63000 miles and many stone chips on the hood and bumper.
I see that Toyota offers a Paint Protection Film (3P) accessory for $395 MSRP. It looks like a clear bra (urethane film) just applied to the lower hood and front bumper. I haven't had this done on any of my vehicles, but did get a lot of rock chips on my last car (which was an Acura). Is it worth the cost and has anyone had any experience with it on their Toyotas?
No, but thanks for the heads up. I called a BMW dealer, and they want 500.00 for the work (including the head lamps). I'll look into this.
I think the coverage for $395 does not include the front bumper, but I'm not sure. Toyota's accessories page says "Areas applied include the leading edge areas of hood and fenders." If the 2010 Prius' that I've seen on dealer's lots had this film installed at the port then the back of each side view mirror is also included. I was quoted $575 plus tax for the Standard Package shown on the Web site in my previous post.
The PPF is on Toyota's national website as an option in a few of the new vehicles when you are 'building it'. The 2010 Prius. MSRP $395 for hood fenders - looks like there is not an no option for the bumper. Your coverage is minumal at best I have installed kits on older prius's, one with full hood coverage. The 2010 XPEL kits are out and look great - many options also Proform has 2010 kits too. Also we have the ability to wrap the front bumper up by the hood - along with hood wraps makes for an awesome install.
