I hoping the fees stay the same with 2010 they may try to make up that $200 difference in price between the 09 and 2010 by bumping the fees up. Anyhow, what's the canadian package of choice out there? for me, current finances limit me to a base model, which when compared to most vehicles out there is still pretty advanced. for the exception of leather seats, it has all the conviences I currently use in my 00 Accord EX and then some.
It's included in all but the base model. That's why I think it'll be offered as an accessory for the base model (it has pre-wiring and the antenna though) Should be the same rates across the country.

It is actually 6:10 in the morning and the web site of Toyota Canada is not availlable. It shows the image of the new 2010 Prius and invite us to come back later. I think they are updating the site to include the new Prius !
prius.ca and toyota.ca are both updated The media release for the launch is here: Dealer installed accessories include: All-Season Mats $118.00 Ash Tray Cup $33.00 BLU Logic® Bluetooth $335.40 Cargo Liner $133.00 Door Sill Protectors - Illuminated $290.00 Toyota Emergency Assistance Kit $77.00 Toyota First Aid Kit $35.00 XM Satellite $684.00 Bodyside Moulding $195.00 Hood Deflector $165.00 Licence Cover - Clear $20.00 Rear Bumper Protector $70.00 Remote Engine Starter $632.00 There is also an accessory configurator which shows the USB/MP3 player interface, but that isn't selectable in the main accessory page... perhaps it's coming shortly.
I can't say I'm happy about the add-on costs: Freight and Delivery $1,420.00 Federal Excise Tax - Air Conditioning $100.00 Block Heater -- Mandatory $490.00 Tire Levy $20.00
I see the 2010 brochure is available under shopping tools as well. That $490 block heater better not be mandatory in BC!
Holy Macro!! Almost $500 for a block heater ?? I'm going to have to factor that nasty bite in for sure because living with a missing BH is totally unacceptable.
no way I'm paying 490 for a block heater...I'm going to have to beat that down...hopefully I get it to around $200 or less...
Well this is my baby, I pick it up tomorrow after it gets PDI'd! It's not what I ordered but who cares. It's a Blue Ribbon Metallic, Premium Package without Sunroof, so B Package. Also, if anyone wants a base model Blizzard Pearl with beige interior there's one unspoken for at Jimmy Pattison North Shore in Vancouver.
You are very lucky. I am happy for you. Unfortunately, I don't have your chance. My $!/*&!"%!/&*/? dealer did'nt receive my Prius that I ordered 3 months ago and got 2 Prius that are available for sale! Yesterday he was 99.9% certain that my car would be in his lot by 9 this morning ! I'm very frustrated. He did'nt have the guts to call me. At 2:30 this after noon, I left him a message asking why he did'nt call me at 9 as he told me he would do yesterday. He told me that "probably" he will get it next Friday. It is somewhere in Quebec City, he don't know where exactly and he told that it is not in his power to bring it here. (I'm living only 115 km from Quebec City!) Why in the world did he received two Prius that nobody ordered and did'nt received mine ? What kind of logistics is that ? Next Friday we are leaving early for the week-end in Estern Townships so I will not be able to get my car until Monday the 29 at best ! When I ordered it in March, he told me that I would be one of the first if not the first to drive a Prius III in Quebec ! And now, he is wondering why I told him that I don't want to see any stickers of "Trois-Rivières Toyota" on my car !!!!
holy Sh....!! And I thought our block heater was expensive ($377.37 was what was shown on my printout).
Luckily there is no mandatory Block Heater fee here in Vancouver. My only extra charges were the 100 for AC and 25 for tire levy. Richard P, I don't know how I lucked out like this. I thought I was still a month or two away from getting it! Apparently the dealership received 2 extra Prius' this morning they were completely not expecting to get, computer glitch or something. I'll post lots of pics tomorrow, the backup camera in the rear view is sweet!
Re: Canadian pricing finally available! I'll be picking up a Technology package in Winter Grey Metallic tomorrow at 4pm. The block heater charge turned out to be $377. I forgot to ask them to turn off the reversing beep... oh well, there's always the first oil change.
Good for you. I decided to make peace with my dealer (I'm still frustrated though!) but I called him to discuss the alternatives and apparently, the sales manager of Quebec might be able to make things moving a bit. He did not promise anything but if I'm lucky, I might be able to get my Black Tech Prius before next Friday. In Quebec, we have the tax (100$) for AC and a 15$ fees for the tire levy. We have the 5% GST and the provincial tax of 7.5% though !
