Hi all, Toyota Europe has just deployed the official campaign for the next generation Prius (still not officially released here). The mini-site is up and running, for your enjoyment, and criticism (positive I hope): The new Toyota Prius 2009 It's a totally different approach from Toyota USA, let's hear what you guys and gals think of it... Cheers!
Because the car was/will be released in 2009, that's our current year. The question is... Why did Toyota USA call it 2010?
Could it be that the US always wants to lead the rest of the world in everything.........even into recession???
Hummm, these are not meant as angry or cross but just some thoughts: it sure seems to take a while to load the first video - not everyone has a fast link sometimes EU English words are used differently than USA words, perhaps use "Unique" instead of "Unmistakeable" ?? Fell free to use my 2010 photos from the Detroit Autoshow. Just don't mix in the wrong product photos! <grins> Bob Wilson
I enjoy this ad much better than the 2010 Prius ads we have in the USA. Clean, simple, elegant, and to the point. Efficient. Unmistakable. Prius! I would like some interior shots though!
Nice work, João! Glad to see that TME found you... going to be a great partnership! :tea: Doug Coleman Prius Product Manager Toyota Motor Sales, USA
Oh my goshiness! *runs around in circles excitedly* Can't wait to get my Prius! Oh and I told my story haha!
Does the Prius version in Europe come with turn signals / blinkers incorporated in the side mirrors? It sure looks like in the Europe ad.
Just noticed that in one of the videos on that site, Toyota hits against all other hybrids. "Unlike most other, weaker hybrid systems, the Hybrid Synergy Drive is a full hybrid system." Nice dig at Honda lol
Frankly, I don't think it's necessary. Don't need to add fuel to the fire. Yes they're standard (and a legal requirement to have side repeater indicators)
Hi Jonathan, Thanks for the praise. The agency who did the creative work is exactly the same that did the American commercials. The only difference is the target audience I guess. As long as they are both efficient, which I believe they are, we Prius fans have good reasons to be happy. After the initial movie, you get the testimonials from me and from Alain. During the testimonials several feature videos appear, one of them talks about the ergonomic feature in the interior. If you go to the menu (click on "Menu" on the bottom) you get access to a gallery as well. There you can see a very nice 10 minute long detailed video on the Prius features, the video that appears when entering the site (about 2 minutes long) and a lot of still images as well. In the still images (photos) you can see some shots from the interior. If you really want to explore further, then you can go here and choose "Interior" on the right side: The Next Prius. The world?s most advanced car. Still not enough? Well, click "Gallery" at the top of the same web page. I have also over 100 pictures to upload to Prius-PT.com when I have time. Let me know if you're interested and I'll let you know when I'm done.
LoL thanks Gord! People let's fill up the map with dots from European fans, go to "Tell Us Your Story" and fill the few fields there to appear on the map. Thinking of it better... why not from all over the world? C'mon, Canada, USA, Aussie, all, "Tell Your Story"!
It's not about digging at Honda at all. It's about making it clear that there are totally different concepts in the market. People need to realize that when they compare their choices. We all know that the driving experience in a mild hybrid is not even close to a full hybrid's driving experience. Toyota needs to pass that message over to people who are not aware of this fact. When people know what they are offered, they can choose better.
Wow! Very nice page! Thank you! I was surprised to see YOU there! EDIT: Posted my story on the site. I am the first one from Spain!
