Just drove back from AZ to CO in my new to me 2008 Prius. I filled the tank in Grants, NM and drove to Denver on a single tank of gas. 539.4 miles, 10.95 gallons, for an average MPG of 49.2558. Holy cats. This was 75-80mph, and over Raton Pass. All highway driving. I've filled up for my daily commute here in Denver- lots of stop and go- and although I've done ~150 miles, tank is still showing full. So far, I'm very impressed. Here's a little photo from the road trip on Sunday- well, since I'm new, I can't post photos, apparently. Glad to have found this forum. Looks like a lot of interesting info available here.
Thank you. I found a couple of threads that are very informative, and I'll be doing my first oil change later today, as well as disabling the reverse beeper. Maybe I can post a photo now.....
Here it is.......I suspect my mileage was slightly higher, but I wanted to get every possible drop of gas into the car, so as to avoid the possibility of any kind of "short fill" doubt in my mind.
Yep, that's about right. I commute from Aurora to the Springs over Monument every day and get 45 MPG consistently (could be better, but I use NO hypermile techniques). I see the battery cycle from near full to one bar on every trip, both directions. There are a few Denverites on the Board, and I see lots of Prius in the area. Someone should get a club together!
