I just installed a XM Audiovox Xpress radio. Put it on the center console and ran the wires (power and antenna) over the top of the council so they would'nt show. When I put the console back I snapped the 3 plug fasteners on the top back in, but when it came to the round fastener plug on the right side of the console there was nothing on the inside to fasten it to? Any ideas here? It worked out great except if I unplug something from the acc socket I pull the whole console out. It definately need something to anchor it there. Thanks Kevin
The mating hole is there. Has to be. Sounds like the plastic parts just aren't lined up right. Get your head down there and make sure that the center plastic is properly aligned with the bottom edge of the dash near the power outlet. Just pushing ithat piece straight on doesn't always get it lined up every time. The plastic clips need to be pushed all the way into position for a start.... I've experienced a similar problem to yours, so I'm assuming you'll be able to straighten it out in short order. The hole is there... really. And if you don't believe me - pull the panel back off and see for yourself. Good luck!
Thanks, I took the panel out again and studied it . . . . and with careful alignment it snaped right into place.
hi - any chance you have any photos or advise? i just stuck my xpress to the dash, and started running wires, though not well - i will look for other disassembled photos - many thanks!
This thread has good photos (Sirius install, but that shouldn't matter), courtesy of Jelloslug. It took me a minute to figure out how he had routed into the console, but in my photo in that thread you can see where I ended up making a hole for the cable (with the TOY-SC1 and SCVDOC1 it needs to be big enough for a DIN plug).
thanks! photos were great and appreciated. i had hoped someone had photos of tapping into the aux lines - the closest is the post on adding aux to the base prius - which showed a jack without any wires - i was hoping to see the wire colors - i shall continue the quest - thanks!!!!!
Further evidence that Prius people are the best (with the exception of that Prius driving meter maid who gave me a ticket the other day), and PriusChat is the best place on Earth for things Prius.
