I just called them back and he told me they are looking at 2-3 months out for the car and that they have 1 guaranteed to come in soon that has since been declined and it is a prius II in white. He suggested I give him a couple more colors to work with and he would call me when he gets confirmation on the first one with one of my colors. I then called another dealership and the guy told me first week of June for the display model and end of June before they get any to sell. His words were "There is supposedly some boat with some cars on it for New England on its way"
That boat is the "Kentucky Highway" It is due to dock at the port on May 29th. It has my car on it so I hope it's not late. I had a bunch of dealers tell me the 2010's will get here in August. There will be plenty of 2010's by then.
It looks like, from what I found out today from my dealer, that the Boston area Prii will start arriving by Friday! My dealer emailed me today saying that my car has gone to "Freight" status and my car will be delivered by the 5th!
I hope it does, maybe then I will get my car around that time which would be good. My car is at Freight staus but it has no ETA yet. So it's still up in the air for me.
I got a call today from the dealership and got to test drive a 2010 III with Sun Roof at the Acton(north of boston) Toyota. I was impressed, I really enjoyed the drive. They got it 2 hours before I arrived and I hit it when it had about 18 miles on it.
I got a call from Ira Toyota of Danvers today asking me if I wanted to put a deposit down on a 2010 as they are expecting them to arrive next week. The salesperson told me their expected allotment was 30 of the 2010 model. I did not ask what packages/colors they were getting. If you're looking for a 2010 up here you might want to give them a call.
I ordered (with deposit) a 2010 Prius lll with sunroof , from Ira in march. went there Yesterday 6/11/09 and they still didn't know when the 2010's would arrive. They said they would know more on Monday 6/15
Hi Alanc :welcome: Welcome to the Greater Boston Prius Nail-Biters. If you read the posts about the cargo ships headed our way, it sounds like Toyota is filling the pipeline as quickly as possible. My advise: avoid threads about Oregon and Washington - it's very depressing. There are a very few PCers in the area who have their cars from the limited amount that were first delivered. If you're interested in a test drive, Acton Toyota has one 2010 dedicated to test drives. Good Luck!
Thank You this will be my 3 prius , Had a 2004, now a 2007 and the 2010 will be for my daughter. I am waiting for plug in to trade my 2007. I also have a 2007 Highlander hybird which I also really like very much, I use it to tow my Popup trailer and still get 22 mpg while towing, 28 when not.
I was told 4-5 days when Ira called me yesterday. So, maybe late next week or weekend by the time they get them processed. Good luck!
Holy Cow! Will this qualify you for the 3 Gen Club? (See HTML Spinner's photos of his Prius collection) Your daughter is a lucky girl!!
I hope everyone gets theirs' soon! My car feels kind of lonely driving around here in Eastern MA for the last week with no other G3 Prii around.
Not sure if I should post this here or elsewhere but I have a question regarding Boston area dealers. Were those of you in Eastern MA able to get MSRP? My original order was for a Prius II and I was quoted $23,099. That's higher than msrp, right? I thought the package II was $22,000, but anyone around here willing to give me a quote seems to be in that same range. My dealer called and offered me a 2010 Prius package II (I believe) but with the JBL sound system and Bluetooth upgrade and quoted that at $24,099. I asked him if it's a package II or III and he hasn't gotten back to me, so I'm assuming until I hear otherwise that it's a package II with an upgrade. If that's true then I'm feeling that it's too high, as I just don't want to pay above MSRP, so if anyone has a suggestion of another dealer in Eastern MA, I would appreciate the tip. Thanks!
I find most of the dealers here are sticking to MSRP. They are tacking on for port-added accessories (mats, bumper appliques, etc.) and those things push the number higher than you may expect. I'm dealing with Acton and so far every number I've seen is MSRP + port installed costs. You can specify what you want from the port when you order - but order means stand in line with the rest of us. :bored: Looks like there are a lot of cars headed to the east coast so availability should be improving. Good Luck!! (and :welcome
Hi ctop, I paid $680 under MSRP for my IV w/SR. I got a few port accesories that I wanted like the Illuminated Door sills, VIP Alarm, cargo net and floor mats so I think they had more room to move on the price. Also, I should tell you this is the 4th car I bought at Expressway in Dorchester so they know me. They had a Blue base II arrive the same time mine did last week but I do not know if they sold it yet. I think the price was $23K or so for the II. I dealt with Ross who is very good and does not pressure.
