GOT MY CAR! Who is next?

I'm next -- well sort of. I got the call yesterday. "Suprise, your car is here. Do you want to pick it up tomorrow?" Absolutely I said yes, but I could not wait ten minutes so I hurried to the dealer to get my first look.

It seemed perfect, a Blizzard Pearl V with Nav only and Dark Gray interior. Then it hit me, the options to be installed at port were not on the car except for the rear bumper applique. No all weather mats, no wheel locks and no security system. My sales person had not even had a chance to look at my car and she was suprised as well, and a little miffed at the port. However, after the apologies she said they would make it right as soon as possible. I had to laugh, though. Here I can't get what I asked for and so many are having to take options and accesories the dealers or ports around the country are forcing on them.

Overall, though, this car purchase has been a good experience. Doxon Toyota in Auburn, WA was very fair and have never pushed any options or accessories on me and I got $500 off MSRP with a couple of goodies thrown in. My goal was to get the car before August 1st when the Washington sales tax waiver ends. It only took three weeks, so I can wait a couple more days.

And I have to thank everyone on PriusChat. I have never been armed with so much knowledge about a car purchase before, and I know more aboout the care at this stage than some at the dealer.

 

We got our new 2010 Prius V today. We ordered one back in early April from a dealor where we got our 2005 Prius. A week ago he called and said they were notified our car was coming in in a couple of weeks. Then he said everything we ordered(Prius IV with solar with lighted door sills, etc in BP and Misty Grey) but the color was changed to silver. We have had a silver Prius and a silver car before that. My wife said no more silver. So I told them to change with someone. They called last Saturday and said no one would swap. So we went looking and found a local dealor with a just unloaded Blue Ribbon Metalic V. He showed us the car and my wife said I want that one. It looks so much better than the other new Prius(Prii) he had in stock she didn't want a IV any more. So for our 41st wedding anniv.(today) we got a new Prius. It looks awesome sparkling in the sun. It has dark grey leather and Nav. It drives like a bigger car and goes right where you point it. No wandering and lifeless steering like our old Prius. I think so far the ride was firm but great.No harsh feel, just firm seats that our comfortible. We have lots to check out on our new baby. We have an all blue stable. It looks like our SUV's gave birth.(we drive them in the winter).

First of all...CONGRATULATIONS!!!

It's our 7 yr anniversary today (got a few to catch up to you two ) and we got our package #3 blue ribbon metallic on Friday!! My husband was wonderful and so supportive and kept telling me "get whatever you want! It's your car!"
So I did.
And I am LOVING my solar package!!! TOTALLY worth the $3600 to me! It is so much bigger and brighter inside and I get a little bit of a sportier feel. Can't say enough wonderful things about this car!!! :bounce:

But there is so much TECH stuff on here (compared to my 95 civic) and I haven't had enough time to play with it all!!! So still confused by a few things.

 

my IV blzd prl solar nav was on the andromeda leader (docked newark 6/12 or 14) and my eta has been 6/28. Stefcat of Easton Md Toyota Scion called today with the news that my car has changed to "F" status (frieght) but still no change in the eta of 6/28.

i expect it to show up mid-week and to get the call.

 

GOOD for you. I am a prius virgin and I am considering getting one too. Any suggestions anybody?

 

Hi and :welcome:. My advice - take time to look particularly at the sticky threads here. The driving impressions are from very knowledgeable guys who reviewed the car. Look at the option packages and figure out what you can't live without. Visit a dealer to drive the car, sign on the dotted line and then post photos of your new car!!

 

I got the call today that my Blizzard Pearl, Navi, Solor Sunroof, Dark Grey Leather got delivered to the Dealer!

Fred Garvin, your car was on the same ship as mine and delivered to the same port, same day. I can't imagine it would be too much longer till yours hits your Dealership.

 

Picked up my IV w/ nav/solar late this afternoon. I got the silver metallic/misty grey leather. What an unbelievable car! It was dark by the time we got home, so I will play more & take pictures tomorrow. The dealer paired up my phone & contacts in about 30 seconds. He also programmed the nav with my home address. How cool is that! I said, "Go home" and it did!

Just got my 2010 IV with solar roof, blizzard pearl, bisque interior.

 

My NoVA dealer called today with a VIN and F Status. Expecting delivery as early as Monday. Silver Prius V w/NAV and Misty Gray interior.

 

what ship? it would be totally unfair for you to get your car before me if it came off a ship after andromeda leader (newark 12 or 14 JUNE)!!:mod:

 

Just got the call from my dealer that my car is in! I can get it at 1 p.m.!

 

Got my Prius IV, no packages, last night 6/25. Ordered 6/17, dealer in Southeast Toyota Region and they allocated one for me from the port with my options (bumper protecter, mats) . Barcelona Red, Bisque.

Picked up My Silver Prius III today. Ordered on Wednesday and in the barn tonight. Can't wait to get on the road.

 

I found a stock number yesterday for my Prius III. It's apparently on the ship headed over to the islands. I've been told it arrives the first week of July and am hoping to get it quickly. I've never back ordered a vehicle before, but I now understand how it feels...
I can now empathize with my customers that are forced to back order a vehicle.

 

Congrats! I ordered the exact same car 3 weeks ago. The dealer says still 2 - 3 more months. When did you order yours?
