Mark, I agree! I'd love to see these colors resurrected -- or a reasonable facsimile of: Blue Moon Pearl (Gen I car color) Tideland Pearl (early Gen II color, gray-green) Radiant Red (yes, bright flat red) Amethyst Pearl (like the Highlander hybrid, it's a pale silvery champagne, femmy but classy) Black Forest Pearl - a current Rav4 color - pretty stunning, it color shifts from dark to shimmery green. Colors to NOT consider: the sundown gold on the Matrix or the avocado green on the Camrys and Landcruisers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
mmm.. Black Forest look amazing! My neighbour has one and it's black and dark green at the same time (I guess that means the name is fitting lol). Very cool.
It feels like Toyota must have spent 100,000's of hours engineering the Gen III car and about 15 minutes picking the colors for it.
As a Brit, from another generation, I agree that BRG in either MGs (I owned a '48 TC in my dissolute youth!) or Jags was a great color, and I would jump at the chance to own a 2010 Prius in that shade. White, however is not a lack of color, it is a perfect blend of every color in the rainbow! Black is a total lack of color. As for Earl Schieb Auto Painting .... if price is your only criterion, he's your man! I still remember his old offers of "I'll paint your car any color for $29.95". Those days are long gone!
Yeah, but...he was a harmless little guy, and scurried right back under his little rainbow bridge. Yup, that was my favourite too. Took the salesman hours to talk me out of ordering one. Oh hey, yours wouldn't happen to be Salsa, would it?
Very simply, I'm intrigued by how much mileage can be obtained from a gallon of gas. As with other technologies, the Japanese have refined efficiency in a practical way; along the way, they also monotized the efficient model. One must ask, in a general observation on our living together, whom among us "wins" with this prius concept?
I will wait until the Prius, generation IV is available so I can purchase my Silver Pine color that they will undoubtably regret not making available for the Prius III.
I'm not sure, let me check...... Ohh, why yes it is. Salsa Red! I'm so blessed. Sooo much more refined than that tomato-colored car in front of me. Haha
Maybe the gen6 will have an adjustment on the dash to customise the exterior colour to whatever we feel like at the time.
Well if a Corolla has that feature, why not? (You could choose from amber, white or blue electroluminescent gauge colours). It was available on the Gen 9 Corolla. No idea if they continued that feature on the Gen 10.
Like a cuttlefish! Emotional lighting would be awesome. Cruising around in white or blue then comeone cuts you off and you flash red or you go camouflage when a really ugly woman is checking you out at a stoplight.... We'll call it Chromatophore Pearl Metallic!
What are you talking about, Buckeye? And why are you posting this in a thread about GIII exteriors colors??:faint:
Frank, perhaps you missed the post (outlined above my entry), that prompted my reply. I think my comments stand on their own...in a very pleasant way for Prius advocates.
Sorry, I did read the post that you referenced, and your post still doesn't really make much sense For someone making their first post (which you were at the time), your comment was too obtuse. If you were someone who had been here for a while, your attempt at either humor or philosophy would have a context from which we could draw an interpretation. Sometimes spammers (or trolls) will open with obtuse comments, and then later start posting their links. If you are not one of these, my apologies.
I certainly agree that green should be a color. I like the "pine mica" I have, but I also would like a hunter green.
