Hope you are right!!!! Someone mentioned that this ship is larger than the other one, also that it is scheduled to dock in Jacksonville on the 13th. Early would be nice. 5 days from now does seem like a long time.
The only thing I don't like about my car is the 3.8 turns to lock steering and I am getting used to that. The 2.5 turns to lock would make this the perfect car. I am having trouble with Gliding the car but I am positive the car is out of alignment and the dealer is going to fix that on Thursday. I would love to have the 3 door SKS and the tighter steering. That's it! I love the color! In the sun it's really amazing! I'm only getting about 50ish mpg right now but that's combined and I'm playing with all the gadgets and figuring out all sorts of things. So the economy will get better. Also it has less than 200 miles on it and as I drive it, it seems to be smoothing out. You'll love the car! Believe me!
This ship is much larger than the Kentucky Highway. It holds like 5,400 cars! It's actually faster than the Kentucky Highway as it's going at over 20 knots right now! If they intend to dock in Jacksonville on the 13th that's a week away. I doubt they will sit out at sea for a week. They should be docking in far less time than that, maybe 2-3 days max! They could be unloading cars in Newark NJ by the 13th.
Now now, let's not be so pessimistic The Pyxis Leader is due into Jacksonville at 3:00PM tomorrow Edit: Whoops, That's 3:00PM UTC. That translates to 11:00AM EST. Four hours earlier... I'll take it!
The other poster had stated it would be on the 13th. But it's certainly going to be there faster. I can tell just by looking at the map. Hope you get your car soon.
Have we crossed some kind of marker of mental health, when people track the ships that their car is coming on? Technologically, it is exciting that we can do this. Psychologically, it makes me wonder. Willie K. Yee, MD Board Certified Psychiatrist (retired) (who tracks his packages from Web vendors via UPS)
No not yet. We don't have RSS feeds or automatic updates via Twitter yet. (sad that we can do this and they don't know where the Air France flight went down.) And by the way, I don't see any ships this morning.
We are self medicating! Are we addicted? Yes! Answer........small,steady doses of Prius Chat!!!!!
Why? It's a large purchase and I'm actually surprised that Toyota doesn't have a full tracking site for it. Why not show people a video of *their* vehicle rolling out the factory, rolling onto the ship, etc. Things like that are cheap to do, and greatly enhances customer satisfaction. Cheap things to make your customer happier are always a good thing to do for a manufacturer...
Pyxis Leader Auto Carrier cargo ship will be -or already is- in Jacksonville FL port today. My V is on it, verified by my dealer just now. Not sure how long it takes to unload SET vehicles and make it up to NJ. Someone here (Steve?) has access to the realtime mapping/location site.
Hi Dean,Pyxis has been in Jacksonville since yesterday. I would think that most if not all of the cars have been unloaded for that particular area. I'm just hoping Pxyis will be soon on its way to Newark. Don't they know how important this car is to me!!!!!!
Jeez, after all those stops, wonder if it has any Prii left? Yep, my V is on U.S. soil, Jacksonville, and will have my (ordered only) PIOs installed and hopefully ready for pickup 6/20. This is exciting stuff. Not like a 9 month gestation period, but being on PChat way too much is like being in Lamaze class every night 6-10. Let's just deliver the baby already! Lucky you folks with yours already in the nursery. Sleepless nights?
Can anyone tell me at what point the dealership knows their allocation and specifics on packages and such? I hate to be a pest, but I'm #9 in the cue for my new 2010. :cheer2:
Your dealer should already know. Call them and ask. That was the only way I found out my car was on this ship.
Appears she is anchored at the mouth of the river off of Mayport, FL. Port of Jacksonville - all ships live - vesseltracker.com My dealer thought she was not expected to dock at Newark until 6/22. Hard to believe she would stay anchored off shore for a week before proceeding north to Newark.
According to that web site everyone is moored. Hopefully tomorrow the ship will be off the Carolina coast.
I hope your right. I better get my current horse and buggy to CARMAX for a potential sale vice tradein.
