Does anyone know anything about the Prius C-ONE Sports Stabilizer Bar Front offered on the sigma web site? I am looking for a stiffer front bar
I've asked Edward from sigmaauto about that, all he can say right now is that C-One is a specialist Japanese outfit that make many performance mods for Japanese cars, similar to Tom's. The good thing about the C-One is that it looks like it's out of the way of all the other engine bay components, so there should be no clearance issues with fluids access etc.
Yes, I am looking at the sway bar. I wish they had a part number that I could reference that would make it easier for people to look up, but they don't. It is on their performance parts page, toward the bottom. I am wondering if it is bigger than stock, or if it is just a Touring model bar.
I just found more of a part number TOYPRIRJRW - Prius C-ONE Sports Stabilizer Bar Front $399.00 Does this mean anything to anyone?
It's bigger than stock (Standard). It's bigger than Touring. It's big! I'm sure I read the specs on the Sigma Prius page.
Yes, the specs for the different front and rear sway bars are all there on the Sigma Prius page (you have to roll over the name of the item to get the specs): Standard Prius: 21mm front, 19.1 mm rear Touring Prius: 22 mm front, 21 mm rear C-One Prius: 24 mm front, 23 mm rear
How wierd! I couldn't get that info to come up with Internet Explorer, which is why I didn't know the info. It came right up with Firefox though. I'll keep it in mind, but I really want something bigger. On a FWD, it is really important to get the ratio between the front and rear bars correct. I already have the TRD Matrix 27mm rear bar and my 1" external bar is supposed to be here in a couple of days (it isn't designed for a Prius, but I will be pretty simple to fabricate some mounts for it). I just don't think a 24mm front bar will be able to keep up with that rear end combo. I am looking for a front bar around 30mm. I know I am going to have to do some custom fabrication to get it, but it will be fun to try. I'll keep this bar in mind incase my ideas don't work out.
It'll be really good if you can come up with a ratio that balances out, I don't know how the ratios for the C-One sway bars were worked out but there's always the risk that buying that set may not provide the best balance.
