Just got on the wait list for a blue 2010 III at Vanderstyne Toyota in Rochester, NY. I actually wanted a II but the saleswoman tells me it will be months before we will see any in our region. And it does not like I will get a dime off the MSRP since the 2010 seems to be as hot as a pistol around here. Although I was hoping for some sort of discount since this will be a cash deal. Free floormats maybe? Has anyone been able to deal on price on the 2010s? Am I being too passive?
You'd think dealers like cash, I always did, but they like it when you finance since it puts a few more bucks in their pockets... I am sure there will always be someone who gets it less than MSRP somewhere and maybe with enough pressure you can get a 'little off or free floormats or something the dealer will toss in but for the immediate future I don't see a price drop all too quickly... But hey, ya' never know. If gas prices drop again once supply builds up a bit, I guess anything is possible.
Currently on the waiting list for a Silver Prius II down in Southern NYS. Paid MSRP and the dealer wouldn't throw in the floor mats. Horrible. Cheers.
Hey, who knows, I guess as I said I could be wrong and anything is possible: http://priuschat.com/forums/gen-iii-2010-prius-main-forum/62688-may-toyota-sales-down-41-yoy.html If only we knew what the future held...
Went to a Toyota dealer 'just to look', decided to buy 09, pkge 2 Prius. Dealer took my three color preferences (int and ext) and went looking for one. Could only find a black with dark gray int. Wouldn't budge on price, but did throw in coupons for a couple free oil changes.
i don't think cash helps, other than it shows them you are serious and aren't a risk to be denied credit and waste their time
Thanks for the replies. But guess what? With my charm and killer smile, I was able to wrangle floor mats:
