Same here....no III in my area yet! Hey XMAN...I realized you're from Cypress. I'm from south of Houston (Clear Lake area). I'm new to this forum as well!
Cool.. I went to Clear Lake High School.. Love the area... Nice to meet you...good place to get update information on what is going on. Rock on dude
I'm glad to see that the build function on the website isn't forcing us to have NAV/Sunroof or whatever options some regions are forcing on certain models. That's +1 in favor of GST. Which means they're still in the hole by about -37...
I got an email from salesman from Star Toyota (in League City) saying that they will get several 2010 Prius in 2 weeks. Just wanted to share the info with y'all.
I just checked out the build your own, and every one of them are loaded with GST profit makers. $775 Owner's Reward Package? The only reward is going to GST's pockets! $300 tint. $350 Vehicle shield. $125 door edge guards! Crazy overpriced stuff. I feel sorry for the suckers that will pay for all that unnecessary junk!
In theory, once the car is allocated to a dealer, the dealer can tell them what port options to install (or more importantly, not to install). So either the dealers don't have the power to change it, or they are purposely ordering them loaded with extra junk. Anybody have any knowledge as to which case is true?
I don't know but this seems like a bad thing. I may need to buy from SET Region. What states are part of Southeast Region? Per the SET (Southeast Region) inventory site, the following '10s are in the pipeline for the Region: 142 II (1223) 150 III (1225) 36 IV (1227) 17 V (1229)
With this type of additional cost added on, the price gap between the Insight and Prius is widening. I wonder how many people will get discouraged from buying a P II or P III, and buy the Insight or something else instead.
Or just keep their current Prius, Lots of people have 04 to 08 that are one the edge of doing upgrades for fun, but if a pain, may back-off.
Toyota of Richardson wanted MSRP + $2000.00 so I will continue cruising around in my 2006 Prius until they get real.
Wow that not cool, good news is we have great cars and can wait them out. Even is gas price goes back to 4 bucks a gallon. We can still be cool about it.
I got Toyota of Richardson to agree to MSRP as of about a month ago. They tried to tell me it would be $2500 over MSRP and I told them I had other offers at MSRP and they would have to match it and they did. Toyota of McKinney, Toyota of Plano, and Vandergriff Toyota all said they'll do MSRP. I ended up not going with Toyota of Richardson anyway because the two salesmen I've dealt with there have both tried to feed me a bunch of the standard BS. The last straw was when they tried to claim that if I didn't get on the waiting list, they wouldn't have any cars on the lot until September and that at that point everybody would be charging $5k over MSRP for it.
That's why I have ruled out Toyota of Richardson. I just don't like BS. If they just say "We are going to get as much as we can for as long as we can" that is one thing. But to lie to try and scare you into making a down payment pisses me off. It's a matter of principal, so I will fly to Chicago, buy one from Jabber and enjoy the ride home if needed. (P.S. Jabber, I want Prius IV, Barcelona Red/Bisque, solar, carpet mats, window tint.).
I ve got another sales guy, but I think there are a few of us with orders at Patt Lobb on the site. At least if they try to pull something there, word of mouth will get around here...
