Has anybody in the San Franciso bay area received a 2010 Prius yet? My dealer isn't exactly a foundain of information for me.
Mine is showing on the Dealer Daily as due at dealership between 05/19-05/22 in Sacramento. Maybe I'll have it this weekend
I dont know where you saw that, but ive spoken to several dealers in the sacramento area and both said theyd be getting them in either june or july. Maita toyota even told me the would sell them in august. but then again, the dealers arent really a good source of info.
I've been calling around, and the dealers in the North Bay are all saying that Toyota wants cars to be delivered first week in June. (I have a deposit on one and was just checking around.) Many are in port (how frustrating!), but we'll see how it all unfolds!
AirKuhl... you'll show me next week right? hehe.. i think you're the closest/soonest to be 2010 owner.
There was a demo Prius V at Toyota of Marin this past weekend. I got to see it in person! Impressive! I'm not sure if it's there anymore, but I hear that the person who is in charge of it works there!
Any updates on this? I was expecting to see my Prius V yesterday/today but it apparenty has not gotten to the dealers yet.
My dealer (Modesto Toyota) gave me a window date of May 25 - June 3. The car is on the Continental Highway due in port on the 25 of May. I don't know why the Northwest dealers already have their first shipment. Lee
Last I heard from my dealer (Sunnyvale Toyota) they expect to receive some vehicles by the end of the month. I only have one configuration and am #7 in line so don't expect to be lucky enough to get one anytime soon.
I was dealing with someone at T Sunnyvale as well, and they were mine to reach them yesterday. It didnt, and the sales manager I spoke to did not have any explanation other than it was probably being held back at the port. Oh well... I guess it will be at most another week or two.
hmm, would think the Bay Area would get theirs the same time as us. i could have picked mine up last week but didn't get around to returning the call until Monday
They arrived at the port on the 15th and my dealer was estimating the 20th. He was expecting them to show up last night but they still have not shown up. Not sure if they deliver over the weekend or not. I will most likely see a couple of you guys at the dealership picking up our cars =)
My dealer is saying that the cars are in the port and some of the allotments are even on trucks to be delivered. Toyota, however, seems to be holding them back from being delivered, he claims, in order to roll out the cars in California for the first week of June. I asked him why WA and OR were getting their cars but CA wasn't and all he could offer was that it was the timeframe they were given from Toyota. So close!!
My dealer was also expecting them yesterday ( Friday ) and they didn't show up. The status of the car on the Dealer Daily is "F" which is supposed to mean in transit from port to dealership. If they do arrive this weekend I won't be able to pick it up until Tuesday because they won't have a PDI guy working due to the holiday. At least I'm driving a rental Prius for now.
Some guesses: (1) Portland is 600+ miles closer to Japan than is Long Beach; (2) Washington State hybrid demand is going to be artificially high at first, then will collapse for a while, due to loss of a sales tax exemption. If the supply of Priuses in and near WA is too tight before the tax change, many customers will buy Honda hybrids instead.
Quick update. I spoke with 3 dealers in the Sacramento and Bay area today and each dealer told me that they are expecting their cars "any day". The initial shipment from the Century Highway arrived in Benicia on 05/07 and now the Continental Highway arrived 05/26 so maybe they'll decide to deliver cars soon. :car:
I got a call today from Toyota in Marin and the person said he was expecting four 2010's this coming Saturday. He scheduled me in for a test drive, but I'm a little confused because I would figure the first four would be swiped away pretty quickly. I wonder if he is holding onto them for at least a day or two to let people test drive before selling them. We'll see.
It is a REGION thing. They are holding ALL California cars until every dealer can get theirs..even the dealers in the hinterlands. That is why ALL the rest of the Country is getting them and California ones are sitting at the dock..
