It looks like Japan is getting all of the fun and comical TV ads for the 2010 Prius while the US is stuck with the artsy ones. Below are 2 commercials airing in Japan that feature Superman helping to point out all of the new features on the 2010 Prius. For the "Chuck" fans out there, you might recognize Superman as Bryce Larkin, AKA actor Matthew Bomer. Funny enough, Bomer was originally cast as Superman for Brett Ratner's remake that never ended up happening. Thanks, DannyChoo
I think they should just air these instead here in the states (as is...). =) In other news, I'm now a Prius owner! Got a 2009 fully loaded for a VERY nice price...so screw Gen 3
Not surprised the Japan commercials feature a superhero as it plays better in a country addicted (really addicted) to cartoons/anime/fantasy. It was interesting, however, that the headline in the newspaper was in English when the entire voice over was in Japanese. I like the US commercials although they aren't as "exciting" as the Superman ones. When the US commercial came on the TV the other night I told my girlfriend to "LOOOOK AT THE TV!!!!" and her response was "Oh God, you're nuts."
Hahaha! The first one is funny and I like it. The second commercial is kind of corny though. But I'm sure they love it over there.
The irony is that despite the absence of English subtitles, I still understood the message. The story came through loud and clear.
