Ok guys, it's my turn to develop a dash rattle. For starters, it only happens at certain engine rpms sounding like resonance. One source was the front-most cupholder. Another seems to be emanating from the glovebox area.
I got it at between 30 and 45 mph. Try putting your finger on the center speaker over the MFD. Hold it down. Mine went away when I placed a magnet on the speaker. Now, the dealer has put padding around the under side between the speaker and the dash.
I don't have the Homelink (yet) and keep the Sears garage door opener in the sunglass holder. It sometimes rattles, when our hearing aids are working.
Hmm, the problem is that nothing new was added. I'm aware of the sunglasses in the overhead console but since I haven't heard from them, I doubt it can be them now. I know one of the rattles is the front-most cupholder. I'm not sure what's causing it to rattle now but it may have been as simple as not closing it tightly. Rattle #2 has yet to be found. It only happens at certain rpms so some sort of frequency that's causing the material to vibrate.
My latch closing the lower glovebox had to be replaced, as it was rattling. Easy test is open the glovebox and see if the rattle goes away.
