Not sure if everyone already knows, but I talked to a few dealers here in Vancouver and pricing and financing is going to be announced on Thursday, May 28th. Downtown Toyota has about 40 ordered and spoken for! The guys at Granville Toyota are taking a different approach, just putting people on a list and only taking official orders once the price is released. I'm not sure if this means that they wont receive the first batch of cars for Canada, but interesting non the less.
Very interesting... :eyebrows: My deposit is at Jimmy Pattison Toyota, I better hope they have a good load of them on order. I can't wait until Thursday to see if I can afford that sunroof!
Also all the dealers I called were thinking the lease and financing rates would be going up...in comparison to the 2009 model. The most optimistic thought 6% lease Lets hope they're all wrong! Anyone know what the best financing rates are at the banks?
This is AWESOME news! finally we can get a canadian price! Now its a matter of counting down the hours and minutes...
From other cars, there normally isn't any discount when paying up front as the dealer isn't involved in the finance/lease areas much and Toyota (or any manufacturer) likes to double dip by making money on both the sale and then again on the finance/lease through their Credit side of the company. If the rates are close to 6%, then I'll be paying cash as well.
Granville will get at least a few. The sales manager told me that 3 will be coming in on June 8th. Base models only though. That means no solar or tech. w
I am kinda in the dark about it. My salesman said he would give me a call as soon as the car comes in. I'm also hearing different dates for arrival. My salesman said mid-June, but another said May 28. Hopefully I'll have my car on Thursday.
So with pricing just on the horizon, I'm preparing to order. What GVA toyota dealers do you guys like? I've never bought a car in vancouver before.
Thanks for the info! We can finally stop guessing (although really with two days left, it's either tomorrow or Thurs lol). Wow, 40 from downtown Toyota... some must be gov't cars.
The salesperson I talked to said a lot were cabs...I dont think it will be long until all cabs are Prius.
I can't see it being any less than that (well maybe 5.9%), but the current Venza rate is 5.9% and I cannot see it being less than that, it wouldn't surprise me if it were higher. However with leasing they have another variable to manipulate (residual) and it wouldn't suprise me if the came in with 5.9% as a rate but lower than you might expect residuals.
I hope it's not a tease.... both your car and the pricing tomorrow would be great. But I think they'll want to release a whole bunch at the same time so you're car might be there but kept in the distribution lot for a week or two. At least we "should" have saved ourselves 10% on the Canadian dollar's strength in the 5 weeks since the US Pricing was announced.
My dealer just sent me an email stating that there are only going to be 68 of the 2010 Prius' in BC in this shipment. Unfortunately only 2 are black so I might have to give up the dream of having a black Prius. But, with only 68 I'll probably have no chance of getting one soon anyway, booo. He didn't mention anything about pricing tomorrow, he's really holding out!
No White "D"s on the first shipment for me... I hope another ship is coming to port soon. I don't think pricing is coming. It's still "Red Tag Days" and they'll still want to clear out 09s (Prii and other models).
Well it looks like it ain't happening today, what are your dealers saying now? This is getting really annoying....
Crap! No price yet! I guess the dealers know about the same if not less then us! Sorry about getting peoples hopes up, I was just passing aling info that my dealer told me. I called him today to complain....and naturally it's his day off
