Anyone see this one yet? Saw this on last night on tv. Seems pretty sad to me...and 58mpg???? Yet the new Fusion claims 65mpg? Ofcourse, the Civics have claimed 50mpg as well.
Actually, on the 48 state tour where the TDI did 58 mpg (in August-September, with two riders), the Civic Hybrid did 68 (in November-December, with cold weather and some snow, and three riders).
true, but it still works out to 36.19 mpg, which is 6.5L/100kms. This is not true, I know for a fact that civics are lucky to get anything over 7.5l/100km (31mpg). I have tried over and over and cannot get anything better then that. Then with the Prius I just drive it normally, and it's mostly hwy driven and never gets anything less then 4.5L/100kms. Actually last Wed I drove it home along a slow road, 50kms (31 miles) one way, and it sat at 4.2L/100kms (56mpg). Granted that was only a short distance and not the whole tank, but I'm sure if I drove that way everyday it would sit around 4.2L. btw fuzzy, I didn't mean the hybrid civic, I'm talking a reg. civic.
I didn't realize they were quoting non-EPA or manufacturer #s. That is why they sounded like imperial gallons. When most people talk about Civics in here they usually are referring to the HCH (Honda Civic Hybrid) which is likely you were misunderstood.
Very true, anywhere else you'd have to say hybrid, so should of put "non hybrid" make it easier if all cars were hybrids lol
