I'd say let's include LED headlights as an option as far down as Prius III. Realistically, I'd like to see it separated from the 17" rims. The goal being to make it available w/ other features and not necessarily require leather.
Just to brainstorm: I would like to have the following in my Prius: - LED headlamps (with washers) - Advanced sound system - XM Satellite radio - 3 door SKS - power driver lumbar support - illuminated entry - plasmaCluster - autodimming rearview mirror w/Homelink - LED foglamps - solar moonroof (ventilation - A/C) - Dynamic Radar cruise control
Also, it seems that many folks disagree with leather being required as part of any package. Some people simply do not want it and some would rather have a custom install so they can pick style, color, etc.
zyonuf79, that sounds just about perfect for me. Don't need leather, and don't really need LKA or IPA. For my perfect Prius, I'd modify the Prius IV w/ Solar: - Leather - Heated Seats + Dynamic Radar Cruise + LED Headlights/fog lamps + USB Connectivity (mine will be early and not pre-equipped)
How about a "green" package? No leather Sunroof/Remote A/C LED headlamps Cloth seats (as in, no leather) Dynamic cruise, lane assist, etc.
I'd like to have the option to add leather seats with lumbar support (non-heated) and 17" wheels to package III. Yeah, that's the ticket!
My wish list is the Comfy package: Comfortable heated leather seats Sun/moonroof (without navigation) Great sound system and while remote start AC is great for 2-3 months out of the year, for 5-6 months I'd kill for remote start Heat!!
OK folks, how's this challenge going? Been a little quiet in this thread lately, but we know from other posts there are lots of things you desire to see on a future Prius. Doug Coleman: "I wonder if you can collectively find 10 configurations of the 2010 Prius that would be preferred by 75% or more of the participants." Anyone have a consolidated list to test before you submit your 10 builds to the Prius Team? Best, Erica
Erica, as far as I can tell, I am the only one to submit a fully detailed list of 10 configurations. So, what do I win? Actually, I would like the teams thoughts about my configs. Roy
Agree with above, but I would also like to be able to get the backup camera without the nav. I don't want to be forced to buy the nav at all.
1: Prius 1- Base. 2: Prius 2- Midrange. Adds Homelink Mirror, upgrade radio with bluetooth/USB. Fog lamps, LEDs, 3 door SKS, manual lumbar support in the seats. 3: Prius 2 with moonroof 4: Prius 3- Upmarket. 17" rims, power seats with memory function. Remote start. Illuminated entry. Lane keep, dynamic cruise, parking thing. 5: Prius 3 with moonroof Nav package Leather package Hot weather package (remote AC, solar panels) These packages are bolt on and are not true factory configurations like adding a roof or tuning suspension are. Ditch plasmacluster and have teenage intern rename stock cabin air filter system something sexy. Or add it to upmarket if you must. Let people change the rims they want and have more choices sitting at the dealers ready to go- this is a huge money maker.
I'd like to add making the rear view version of the backup cam standard on non-NAV versions (on anything Prius II or III and higher). I can see keeping it out of the base model for cost. I'm 100% onboard with separating the NAV and moonroof/solar panel.
I kind of would like to have the option of a completely loaded model. Prius V with tech package AND a sunroof. It would be kind of spendy though ~ 35k. Just a thought.
Thank you, everyone. We appreciate you all giving us your own ideas. However, the real purpose of this challenge is to leverage the true power of the Prius community as a whole! And by that I mean, we are hoping some person (or group of people) takes it upon themselves to solicit everyone's opinions and harness them into 10 actual build configurations that the community can generally agree upon. This would be the entire community's opinion, which is far more powerful and compelling than each of you by yourself. (This is the point where I'm supposed to say you're all the most important customers, but alas, it's just impractical - sorry!). This "one voice" would have an actual real chance of affecting the product down the line, because it carries both weight and breadth. Now, I could never promise that all the requested changes would come to fruition - and frankly most probably won't, simply due to the numerous engineering and other challenges the requests will run into. And it's a lot of work. Trust me, I know. But hopefully the process itself will be fun (Erica and I are happy to participate along the way), and you never know what you'll get in the end! Anyway, that's what we were hoping. All it takes is someone to lead the charge. Doug Coleman Prius Product Manager Toyota Motor Sales, USA
Doug, I was trying to do that with my list, in post # 18 of this thread, of 10 configurations. I will start another thread asking for approval or suggested changes. Roy
I want a stripped down base model. No SKS, no electric windows, manual mirrors, a key lock on the petrol flap, no remote release, no luggage curtain, vinyl seats, no fog lights, steel wheels, no mirrors or lights in sun visors, no map lights, no assist handles. Bare bones car with a bare bones base model price.
What we need is a database with every possible option, configured in every possible combination, then have the PC community vote on their top 3 choices. From that you could take the top 10 configurations.
