Good News; the 2010 SET Prius' are starting to appear.

My 2010 Silver Package V with Navigation was allocated to my Dealer yesterday 5/15/09. The status is "at sea" on ship #672 (anybody know the ship name?) with a Jacksonville, FL Port date of 5/25/09 and Dealer ETA of 6/3/09. I have my VIN, Allocation Number and Key Number; so it seems real. The only scheduled Port add-ons are rear bumper protector, mats, cargo net and accent stripe; all of which I would have had installed.

I requested Dark Gray leather, but the Consumer Sheet lists the interior as "not specified". Another report listed the interior as Misty Gray, so I may have to either settle for Misty Gray or wait for another 2010. The VIN begins with JTDKN3DU5A and ends in the low 2000's; does the VIN indicate the interior color?

While I'm waiting, please point me to some photos of Misty Gray leather; I've got plenty of photos of the Dark Gray.

Yes, that is my tent in front of the Dealer's lot.

First off, congrats!! Secondly, what dealer are you using down here? I bought my 2004 down in Kendall back then they were the only dealer I found who had even half a clue(back then I was living north Dade, I'm now in central Broward). A few weeks ago I asked at Hollywood Toyota while I was waiting on an oil change about the 2010 the sales person had no clue and started rambling about how the 2010 models won't start appearing until late summer/early fall! I'm not planning on buying yet anyway, but just would like to know what dealers are up to speed in the area.

But why on earth is the SET region not showing the 2010 on the "build your Prius" website!?! Aye!!!

Vincent, I guess ours are on the same boat. Last I heard mine was scheduled to hit the port on 5/25.

I'll try to scrounge up some photos of the Misty Grey. I think you'll like it. More and more I wish I had ordered mine with that.

Probably, two things. They don't have any 2010s to sell yet and they have a lot of 09's left on their lots.

    Danny,
Even though my port date is 5/25 and my dealer ETA is 6/3, my dealer is telling me to expect mine a few days early; wish us luck.
    What did you order?
I ordered my Silver V with Dark Gray leather, but I was allocated Misty Gray. Do you know what color floor mats come with Misty Gray; I've seen contrasting black (looks nice) and (dirt attracting) matching light gray.
Also, do you know the boat name: I've been watching the shipping website for every ship in/out of Jacksonville.

I'm having a heck of a time with my dealer, trying to get what I want and them not knowing what they are going to get. I am all set to get a Silver IV with solar roof option with Misty Gray leather. The dealer is telling me he doesn't know when he is going to get such a car. I even offered to come in and make deal on paper - basically buy the car, site unseen - so he can go get it - it's already sold. No dice. What a pain. Still looking forward to this being a done deal.

Does anyopne know if the 2010's a little more front seat leg room than previous models?

I've heard the same thing from 3 or 4 local dealerships. It's like they simply DON'T KNOW when they will get them in. I can't understand it.

Sure, I realize there's a high demand... but I can't imagine a huge car company like Toyota not being able to give some ETA on ordered cars.
Isn't there a list of people waiting somewhere??? Don't they know how many they can churn out on a daily basis?? Can't they make some estimation based off those numbers??
The popular reply from dealers when asked "How long?" seems to be "I don't know and won't know until we get them."
    That just seems lame.

I am looking for a Blizzard Pearl IV with solar roof, and my second color choice is Winter Gray Metallic. Hopefully the Blizzard Pearl will show up before too long.

I've been told to expect it to be at least 4-8 weeks... maybe longer.
I did have the chance to buy a Sandy Beach Metallic yesterday, but that would probably be my last color choice. (although I haven't actually seen that one in person.)

Can someone explain the SET inventory link that shows up when you search for new Priuses from the dealer web pages. For instance, it shows approximately 189 Prius IVs in the system either already available or to be available in say 30 days out. Is this an accurate representation of availability or does it show customer ordered and other cars that are spoken for in its count? The data is very detailed, showing VIN, options, and other extras as well as availability date for each car.

I can only tell you about mine--it did not show up on the SET inventory after the dealer made arrangements with SET to send it for me. I bought 6/17, specified the color and options--IV, Barcelona Red, and the dealer said it could be up to 30 days. At that point, the only car showing in their inventory was the one I had driven which was the first arrived one. The next day, however, they showed 3 more due in between 7/1 and 7/16. On 6/25, they said my car was on its way even though it never showed up on the list, and it arrived that afternoon.

My assumption is, based upon this one and a prior SET order from the same dealer, that once they call it sold, it is no longer on the available list.

If it shows as a future available car, your dealer can order it for you from the port as a sold car. But you might not be the only one trying to get that one car. That's my understanding from NC dealers in the past.

I just got news that my car, a 2010 V with navigation - winter grey has come into the port and will be delivered to the dealership this weekend. It is to the Toyota of Hollywood dealership. They are selling it at a couple hundred under MSRP. I can't wait.
