I've been eagerly watching for the first 2010 cars to arrive and was just wondering what ever happened to all the Prius Chat members who had priority orders? Has anyone who had a priority order, received their car yet? Winebuff, I think I recall from reading your posts, that yours wouldn't have been a priority order? How about you, HTML Spinner, have you heard anything on yours? By the way, I'm not trying to ruffle any feathers, but it seems odd that the priority orders don't seem to have actually been treated as a priority.
They're a priority in that we didn't have to call around hoping to find what we wanted in the right exterior interior color with the right options. This was a great way to get one the way you wanted it, or pretty much the way one wanted it, right off the bat. Mine is still on that darned Kentucky Highway and will hopefully be here in about 2-3 more weeks, probably 3.
I'm thinking HTMLSpinnr is going to be the first of the Prius Priority orders to be filled. I was at the dealer's just today, and I received the VIN and spec sheet on my PP order. I also have an ETA of Tuesday, May 26 -- one week from today!
Actually it's prioritized within each regional area since units arrive to each region at different points based on boats, ports, travel times etc etc. So, any "Priority Program" orders within Portland Region should be first, except maybe Hill who has extra far to go from the port and might get beat out by another region which starts seeing units. Best, Erica
I think we've heard from at least 3 people who have already taken delivery in Washington State (isn't that Portland Region?), and we know there are cars being test driven (and likely sold) in Minneapolis. Hill doesn't have his, and I haven't heard that John1701a has his yet, so I don't think the Priority Program orders are getting primary delivery in those areas. This is not meant as a complaint on my part, Erica, but simply as an observation. Would I like to have my car now? Absolutely! But, I am glad I will get the car of my choice delivered to my local dealer with no rush and no pressure. Now . . . If someone wants a mint 2007 Package #6, Silver Pine Mica w/ Engine Block Heater and 29,290 miles . . . PM me! EDIT: I forgot one: DaveInOly picked up his 2010. He is in the Portland region, of course!!
I was busy prepping the Prius for trade. In other words, trying to keep myself busy because I didn't see any deliveries at my dealer (Burnsville) today and my salesperson hasn't called yet. Being so close blows the mind. I've already been through all this before too. Third time is a charm, eh? Stay tuned... .
Do you have your VIN yet? Are you trading in at your dealer? Do you have the numbers set? Do you need a haircut? Have you started growing the tomatoes? Has the snow melted yet? Can you hear me? John?
My Blue Ribbon IV with Solar Roof is supposed to arrive in Beaverton To More WOW (tomorrow)! Around noon. Guess I will be pretty useless all morning.
No, no problem. No, mine was not a priority. I made it a priority all on my own I called every dealer I could and did my own legwork. Hence the first car. I am in sales and very tenacious. We make our own destiny
Yea, sorry guys, mine isn't scheduled till June 4-5. Another couple of weeks for me. I do have my VIN, and my trade appraisal locked in for the 2002. Wife and I have unofficially swapped cars already (so I can keep the trade cleaner sans kids). She's getting used to the 2004 (which should make the 2010 less intimidating if she ever chooses to drive it), and I'm getting used to less power of the 2002 which should make the 2010 feel like a relative rocket! We plan to do an informal photo shoot (i.e. I take pictures) of all three generations together when I take delivery before I hand over the 2002.
Ok, I wasn't aware there was a generous discount. I guess that could help offset the fact that cars have been delivered without having already been ordered, while most of the priority orders remain unfilled?
Thanks for the reply, now I can say I've had a brush with fame! Good work on your end, and it obviously paid off! Enjoy that new car!!
Ok, I admit it, I don't yet know how to include multiple quotes from several individuals on one reply posting. I appreciate hearing from you too, and wish you luck on getting yours very soon. At the risk of offending anyone else on here, many of whom seem to want to stick up for Toyota regardless of what they do:cheer2:, I still think they dropped the ball with this issue. Generous discounts aside, I think the people who "went out on a limb" and ordered cars before even knowing all the packages and equipment options deserved better (earlier) treatment with their deliveries. I hope all the priority people get their cars very soon!
I agree the discount was generous and the function in NYC was a really nice touch. The first time ( for me) ANY manufacturer dealt directly with it's customers and let them feel a little special and appreciated.
Still Waiting here in Middletown, NY. BUT Very Happy With The Program, My choice of options and The Generous Discount!!
Yup. If I were a betting man, I'd bet that the general public will have to wait at least 2 or 3 years before it could get a discount as big as the Priority discount.
