2010 Prius Canadian Pricing?

    I just got the call from my dealer and they switched the order from Barcalona Red to Blue Ribbon. Seems the Tech Packages are now available in Blue Ribbon, no price info yet but a delivery date of Late June, First week of July.

    I went to see the Prius at the EPIC Expo in Vancouver today. The car was all locked up but at least it wasn't roped off like the one at the Vancouver Auto Show. Interestingly, the people manning the exhibit were told to tell everyone that pricing would start at $27000. Good news, hope they're right! :D

    They really don't want anyone to sit inside it, do they? So far, only Prius owners and invited guests have been able to sit inside the prototypes.

    Also, it seems like the Technology Package Prius stayed in Ontario. I didn't see it in any of the events in Western Canada.

    Went down to the dealer. First Prius coming in May 28. One pre-ordered, one for test drive.

    That's fabulous news... from what I've been hearing lately, I was thinking we'd be waiting until late June at earliest. Now if only I could get ahold of the salesperson who I've been dealing with.

    Gateway Toyota. I haven't heard anything from Vancouver. I will check other dealers to see what they're getting.

    Where is this Gateway Toyota? Edmonton perhaps? Because I 'preordered' (or put down a deposit towards) my 2010 there ages ago. Please maybe is it a black base model?

    I was also told that I would get the first 2010 available for sale.

    I'd ask other dealers. There's no way that we're getting more Prius than Vancouver.

    I did a quick call around my area. So we know Gateway's getting 2 (1 test drive, 1 pre-order). Sun Toyota and Mayfield Toyota won't get any til Sept/Oct (They haven't ordered any, presumably because they have a good inventory of '09s to get rid of as the salesmen kindly pointed out over the phone lol). Kingsway Toyota is getting 12-13 units and Sherwood Park Toyota is getting 2.

    So there's 15-16 units coming into the Edmonton area late May/early June. Kingsway has a great mix of colours and packages (1 PP, 5 PP w/ SPM and 1 Touring and the rest are Tech Packs. No base model yet). The Touring is in WGM, the others are in black, BP, BRedM, BlueRM and of course CSM). No pricing yet.


    Edit: I forgot to mention. The Touring model is at the Port of Vancouver so if anyone wants to see a Winter Grey Metallic Touring model, go to Riverport (opposite SilverCity). That's where the cars will be. The others are in production.

    I think I need to have a good sit down with my dealer. Vancouver must be the most Prius-ful city in Canada, why would Alberta get more? I really hate to think that I wasted a deposit on a dealer that won't deliver in a reasonable time. All your talk about Gateway and Kingsway had my hopes up that you were talking about Vancouver Toyota dealers, oops!
    Thanks for the tip about the cars at Riverport. Maybe this weekend I'll drive over there and get some spy shots!
    ParanoidAndroid, you're very lucky. Take lots of pics so I can drool over them. Black and Base model is what I ordered too... jealous.

    Just spoke to my dealer, he says that there only 10 Black Base models coming into Canada in May-June, most of them for Ontario and Quebec. He says I would only have a slim chance of getting a Black Base in late July or August. At this point I think I'll have to open up my options and colours. I can't wait that long!
    Paranoid, see if you can find some sun in Edmonton and let me see that glossy black shine, any angle. :p

    I would hazard a guess that Vancouver, on a per-capita basis, has more Prius than any other city in the world. I don't have access to registration or sales numbers, but somebody probably does.

    Nope, sorry.

    You might be competing with Victoria, but yes, I don't know why Alberta's getting so many (didn't check Calgary's numbers). Well July would still be reasonable, no? that would just be the 4th or 5th boat. The 2nd round of shipments come in for the 1st week of June (which probably means ON/QC won't get theirs til mid-June)
