Points to consider in the use of a car cover. We used one for a couple of months on a 1993 Mercury Sable where we had to park under a large tree, exposed to wind ,dust, etc.for somewhat lengthly periods. We found that there was a considerable build up of dust on the car and where the wind had moved the cover over the dust in some areas the paint job was "sandpapered". The cover material was designed to "breathe" yet shed rain. Finally due to paint scratching and all the tree/bird droppings on the cover we got rid of it , had a paint touch-up and found a good high-pressure wash kept the vehicle looking great for the next 6 years. I just ordered a cover from http://www.autoanything.com/shopping_guide...ide_toyota.aspx. I went with the QuickSilver fabric with life time warentee.
I got mine from Coast Car Covers and I think it's best to get a custom fit as opposed to getting a generic. We don't have any trees nearby (it's mainly for dust) and a San Diego winter is very mild.
