Driving of Dykes Road in Pembrooke Pines this afternoon, I spotted a silver 2010 Prius pulling out of a gated community. At first I thought it was a Honda Insight, but it was definitely a 2010 Prius with the new blue oval logo up front. How can this be? Southeast Toyota is not a real part of Toyota; how is it that there's someone (presumably a Toyota person) down here driving a new Prius?
There was one at a "Green Living" event in McKinney, TX yesterday, and it was on display at the dealership for the 2 days prior (only for an hour each day). It probably gets to and from those events on the public road and not inside a big truck. My guess is the fleet manager volunteers to drive it around.
I wish Toyota would announce when the 2010 is going to be in an area. I've e-mailed Southeast Toyota asking when the new Prius would be at their offices (I work on the same street); I may as well have been talking to a wall.
You should drive to their office now. If that was a '10 Prius that was spotted it's driven by Toyota Coroporate. Did you see the plate? Was it a standard citizen plate, dealer, or manufacturer's plate? This car has to be Toyota owned and driven.
