Hi all, I grabbed a 2007 Touring, Toyota Certified, 13K miles yesterday. After much web shopping it was a little impulsive in the end but so far I'm liking it. Made a 70 mile drive north and back again today on the interstate. With some city driving mixed in at the destination the display tells me it was a 49mpg trip. I had a great time trying to learn the driving techniques. At times in city driving I was psyched to see it cruise along at 35mph on battery alone. I've read some of the tips for newbies here and took the flashing pip warning to heart. I put about 10 miles on it getting to a station after it started flashing, then it only took 9 gallons to fill! Oh well. If I can get a break in the weather I'll have to break out the detailing supplies. Paint could use a good clay bar, polish and Klasse. I've just started reading here in the forums but look forward to future interaction! Regards, Don
Hey, me too. First long-ish trip with my Prius today: ~250 miles, mostly highway driving at 60-70 mph, averaged 50.4 mpg. I had previously been getting ~40mpg in short trips around town. Tires at 42F/40R, but the dealer delivered the car with tires at 33F/35R!
Well then you did a bit better than me. I haven't gotten around to checking tire pressure yet but I'm sure it's lower than I'll want it. My first job tho is to get some space cleared in the garage for the car!
